Mitterhof — Hotel in Gerlos

You know you get what you paid for, but we won't be back here. Lets start positive; the rooms are good and clean. Breakfast is OK and you can ski all the way untill the hotel.||The hotel itself is worn, but so are most 'pensions' in Austria. ||||Then the negatives: dinner is really tasteless, very small portions and they are not in a rush to refill the salad bar. ||What really made our stay negative was the staff and especially the owner. The old lady (i think she's around 65) is very rude, she doesn't make you feel welcome at all.||Our shoes were wet and dirty because of the snow and they don't provide any doormats in their rooms. So in order to help the cleaning staff, we used a towel to clean the floor of our appartment.||She got SO MAD and shouted at us in public. Two days later, after checkout, she was still very mad and rude and threw the used towels to us. Told us we should bring them home to polish our shoes.||||The only good staff member is Stephan, he is really friendly and funny. The rest of the staff doesn't even speak to you and are not attentive. You have to call them multiple times if you want to order a drink.||We won't be spending money here, staff and food blew it for us. ||||Oh and since this hotel is located next to the famous CinCin bar, you will see a lot of drunk people in front of the hotel. Nicht das Hotel betreffend, sondern eine allg Info vorab für Leute die es nicht wissen: Gerols ist wirklich komplett in Niederländischer Hand - locker 90% der Gäste sind Holländer und nahezu alles ist auf diese ausgelegt..

Zum Hotel: Die Lage ist wirklich sehr gut, mitten im Ortskern, nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß von der Dorfbahn entfernt. Nachteil der Lage dürfte für den ein oder anderen jedoch leider der Nachbar, die Apres Ski Bar (mit entsprechendem Klientel) sein. Tipp: parkt das Auto auf keinen Fall vor dem Haus, direkt an der Straße - wir haben während unseres Aufenthaltes beim Gang zur Bahn so viele Autos mit Hinterlassenschaften der feiernden Holländer gesehen, leider alles andere als schön. Also wenn möglich, iwo ums Eck parken, nicht DIREKT an der Straße.

Der Service ist gut. Ganz speziell würde ich gerne die brünette Kollegin vom Frühstück loben (mit der Verletzung am Bein), sehr nett und zuvorkommend! :) Das Frühstück selbst ist auch absolut ausreichend und hier sollte wirklich jeder etwas finden. Es gibt den gewöhnlichen Aufschnitt mit Backwaren, süße Aufstriche, Müsli und frisches Rührei mit Speck. Alternativen zu klassischer Milch sind jedoch leider noch nicht so nachgefragt und müssen angemeldet werden - aber auch hier, war man super flexibel!

Das gebuchte Zimmer war sauber und sehr gemütlich. Hier gibt es jedoch leider zwei kleine Kritikpunkte. Zum einen ist das Bad leider eine "Plastikzelle" und die Lüftung dort muss iwie kaputt sein (nervige, konstante und laute Knack Geräusche) und zum anderen ist alles wirklich extrem hellhörig. Man hört jedes Wort aus den umliegenden Nebenzimmern.

Und nun zum für uns schmerzlichsten negativen Punkt, welchen wir erst viel zu spät bemerkt haben. Der Trockner für Skischuhe funktionierte leider nicht. Nach der ersten Nacht, dachten wir nur es sei schon länger aus, weil die Schuhe nicht warm waren (nicht so ungewöhnlich).. Nach der zweiten Nacht allerdings waren unsere Schuhe am Morgen noch komplett nass und es war sehr unangenehm, diese über den Tag noch zu tragen. Im Nachgang haben wir nun leider ein großes Problem mit dem Geruch der Schuhe (klar, 3 Skitage und zwischendrin keinerlei Trocknung) welches wir gerade sehr mühsam zu...

I was here in the winter for snowboarding. Piste accros the street, busstop closeby, next to the lively Cin Cin bar, good room with good beds and in an authentic Austrian ambiance! ||Free wifi available in the lobby. Breakfast en dinner is prepaired by the hotel and is good. If you think it's not enough you can always ask for more. The staff is very nice en helpfull. Because we departed in the night they prepaired a lunch for us...
