Really wish I would have read the reviews before booking this hotel. I'll give it two stars for how clean it was and location, even though I wish it was closer to old town. The hotel is located 5+ blocks from the main train station, just take Tram #3 to Ambras from the station, get off on Dr. Glatz Strasse stop and from there you go straight off the platform and the hotel is 2 blocks away on the right hand side.
My husband and I got to the hotel around 8pm and the concierge was totally clueless and wasn't expecting us (we booked through Expedia and had the email confirmation pulled up to show him), after finally figuring everything out we asked about the wifi, he told us it was 5€ per device per day for the daily password to get it in our room, but if we bought breakfast (15€ per person) it would be free, there is free wifi in the lobby. We got the combo deal, got situated in room (after taking 5 minutes to figure out how to turn the lights on - you have to put the room key in a slot and then they lights will turn on 🙄), and then got logged into the wifi. Turns out the wifi doesn't work in your room unless you're standing right next to the hallway door. And who wants to do that?
When I was showering with the water at a normal heat, the water would turn into burning, scolding water. This happened to my husband as well. After getting dried off in the shower I stepped down into a small lake of water on the bathroom floor. The swinging door of the shower has no seal so the water leaks out. The bathroom lights are motion censored, so you can't stand in one position too long. They also came on a lot during the night when we were both in bed.
We woke up the next morning and got down to breakfast by 7:30, it runs from 6:30-10am, everything was already picked over, it's the usual European breakfast with a side of eggs and bacon, and let's just say it was meh - so breakfast wasn't even worth it either. Lesson learned, don't get the combo deal.
When we returned after exploring Innsbruck all day we got to our hotel room door and our room key wouldn't work, my husband had to go all the way back down and the concierge had to make us a new one which took 10 minutes.
If you don't care about wifi or way over priced not so great breakfasts then this place is great!
Pros about the hotel: -The hotel is located by a restaurant called Franky's Imbiss that's DELICIOUS (if you don't stay here go there, the hamburgers are as big as your face!). -Right next to Franky's is a Billa market, we got breakfast food from here that cost 5€...
Read moreI usually don’t leave negative reviews, but in this case, I feel a responsibility to share what happened so that other travelers — especially Asian ones — can make an informed choice.
During my stay, I encountered two major issues: a clogged shower drain and the unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff.
The drain in the shower was completely blocked. Water began to overflow and I had to stop my shower halfway through. This was not only inconvenient but quite distressing after a long day. Clearly, the bathroom had not been properly cleaned or inspected beforehand.
When I reported the issue to the receptionist the next morning, I was met with visible annoyance and a complete lack of apology or empathy. I explained the situation calmly, respectfully, and in fluent English — yet my words were ignored, and I was made to feel like a nuisance rather than a guest with a legitimate concern.
What troubled me most was not just the poor maintenance, but the dismissive attitude I received when I tried to report it. I felt that I was not being treated with the same basic courtesy and seriousness that any guest deserves.
As an Asian traveler, I cannot ignore the possibility that this treatment may have been racially biased. The hotel’s defensive response to my formal complaint — filled with excuses rather than accountability — only strengthened this impression.
I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously. But until they demonstrate a genuine commitment to fair and respectful treatment of all guests, I cannot recommend this property to non-white travelers. If you expect basic hospitality and equal treatment, I suggest staying elsewhere.
I will also attach a screenshot of the hotel’s email response to my formal complaint regarding the unprofessional attitude I encountered.
Frankly, I don’t know since when offering a sincere apology became a “cultural difference.” The response was so defensive that it left...
Read moreMy family and I had a bad experience staying in this hotel.
CONS: There is no insulation in your room and Insbruck snowed twice during my stay. The city is very cold and my room got very chilly more than once. The entire hotel is not soundproofed and you can hear everyone's conversations and doors shutting. The location was in a rather shady area and whenever I would walk to the 'center', there would always be a strong smell of marijuana at the bottom of an apartment complex near the hotel. There was horrible wifi. There are two wifi connections in the hotel. One of them is for the staff and that very well may be extremely fast but it is private. The one available to the guests of the hotel is a public wifi which is extremely slow. Not only did it cut out at random times, but around 8-10pm, it was even slower than it usually was. There was an unpleasant receptionist. I saw, first-hand, that sometimes there were families waiting in the lobby to be checked in. Some hours during the day, the receptionist is not even present and you have to self-check in. However, the rest of the staff were OK. Breakfast starts at 6:30am and ends at 9:30am so basically, my experience everyday was a crazy dash to make it to the breakfast place in time. The beds are so incredibly small for a grown adult. The hotel expects a grown adult to sleep in a single sized bed (smaller than a twin sized bed).
PROS The bathroom was kept clean and the design was very nice but it was nicer than the actual room itself. Not a bad thing but it just doesn't make much sense.
Overall, the hotel is overpriced...
