Leitgebhof Hotel — Hotel in Innsbruck

We were a group of 18 athletes staying at the hotel. The hotel is nice and clean and set in lovely grounds just of the main road. The village Igls is a great place outside of the busy Innsbruck but only minutes away. ||The rooms are clean and ours has a decent balcony overlooking the garden and trees. There was no tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast is standard continental with bread meats and cheeses and plenty of eggs. ||This would have been a 5* review but you are very much living as a guest in the host families home and although polite I did not find them very accommodating. There was no real indoor chilling area for guests as the family dominated the living room most evenings and the hotel was shut up and in darkness by 9pm most nights even though bar was advertised as being open until 10pm. The hotel is hidden away, about 1 km from the bus stop. The room was big, at times felt cold, simple and dated. Strange mix if interior design. Breakfast and wifi reasonable - access to 1 device per person! Parking available. To get to Innsbruck takes at least 30 minutes - 15 minutes to walk to the stop and 15 minutes on the bus. The manager was not very welcoming. We asked for a room at upper floor, our request was not met even though we stayed for 3 nights and the hotel was virtually empty for 2 nights- guests staying 1 night - our 2nd night - were given a preference. The whole hotel would benefit from a facelift. A reasonable choice for an overnight stay if the rate is right. Otherwise plenty of potentially better choices in the area. Highly recommended!!! I cannot rave enough about this place. A hidden gem. Basically it is accessible by car but also by public transportation. We stayed 4 nights here and we received the Welcome Card which grants you free public transportation and some discounts to certain places (1 up and down by Cable Car at Oberperfuss, 20% reduction at Lumagica show in Innsbruck , 10% at Panoramica Ski in Innsbruck and so on!).
