This is a 3 star rated hotel with religious theme and seems that it has smooking rooms also. ||I reserved one night double room on booking.com for 80 Eur.||When I arrived in the evening, there was only the hotel manager that didn't speak english. We were speaking english with him and he was answering in german and maybe some hungarian also but he managed to help us with the parking place.||The room 111 had broken/bent door that was not closing weel so in the upper corner there was a gap of couple centimeters. The sofa had a very area on it, the pillows had hair on it, the room had two big spider nests (one with big sipder included) in the upper corners. The bathroom door had a hole in it, the shower cortin was dirty, the toilet was smelling bad and not so clean, antother spider nest in one upper corner of the bathroom. Hotel hallways were degradated and had destroyed plaster.||I informed the hotel manager of these problems but I had to inisit for his attention because was also working as waiter. Seems that he said that if don't like it I can go to other hotel (it was 11 PM) and he can change the pillows but he never comed back to change it. The cigarette smell entered our room during the night because of the broken door and the bed was creaking on every small movement so I coudn't sleep good. The breakfast was ok and I found a person who speaked english at the hotel reception. I told him that I'm not going to pay 80 Euro for these condition and we have two options. He intrerupted me and he said that he has two options for me and the best that he can do for me is to give me a 20% discount and I said that I'll do a bad online review and complain to consumer protection anyway. Some other guests were sitting near me and when he realised he was stopped speaking english and switched to romanian language. I finally payed 35 Euro but still...
Read moreSpent 4 nights in this hotel have to say, that unfortunately this place does not reach 3* level in Austria. As a family with 2 kids we have been accomodated in a very small room on 2nd floor. The room was truly small with almost no space for luggage and one old useless small closet, The bathroom space was approx. 1 m x 1,5 m. Furniture is surely more than 20 years old, bed very uncomfortable, the window almost popped out of the frame when opening. There is a slopy old wooden floor, you hear and physicaly feel each and every step from the corridor.||The restaurant is in better condition, unfortunately serving only breakfast and dinner, no lunch. The breakfast is quite OK, could be richer considering 3* (e.g. no sweet pastries, only scrambled eggs as a warm meal), Dinner is being served only as 1 meal with no option, quality of food is lower average and quite cheap.||There is practicaly no space or play-corner for children so at the end they keep running all around the hotel...||The only possitive is staff - mostly hungarian - kind and helpfull.||Overall OK for 1 night stay due to location but not...
Read moreThe best hotel in Mariazell for the price. I have stayed here everytime for the past three years, and don't plan to change that in the future. Very friendly owner, and staff. Rooms are cosy, and very clean. Also the beds are the best ones I have ever slept in, they are actually better than my own at home. Great breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs, and orange juice, which for some reason they mostly get wrong everywhere else. If they cooked lunch and dinner, I would probably only eat here. I have stayed in dozens of three-star hotels, mainly in Austria, and this is my...
