Hotel Lilienhof — Hotel in Salzburg

We chose this hotel as its near the airport and FC Salzburg stadium. Approx a 1.2 miles from each. We arrived late at night and had arranged to pick up the key from the Asian Restaurant within the hotel ( reception closes at 8 pm).Mr and Mrs Wang don't speak much English but you get by with signs and a smattering of english/german.During the day however the staff in reception speak excellent English and nothing is too much trouble for them from sightseeing advice to booking taxis.The room was clean and functional.Ensuite was a decent size and again spotless.The only issue for me was no safe in the room.You can use the one in the office but its closed from 8 pm, not very handy.We had the continental breakfast for the duration of our stay which is 9 euros per person extra and was value for money. We didn't have a meal in the restaurant but did try the soups and spring rolls which were excellent.The restaurant was quite busy most nights with locals and visitors alike To get into Salzburg its a 9 or 28 trolley bus. You can buy a 24/48/72 hour ticket and get on an off all day or a Salzburg tourist ticket which gains you access to some 30 attractions in the city priced from €25.We only used taxi to and from airport less than €10 per trip.I would recommend as good base for sightseeing in Salzburg. Good functional clean rooms it is a twenty minute trolly bus to the city centre but ten mins to airport by taxi and in a quiet area too.Staff are curious polite and knowledgable. Booking: 2 Quad Rooms||||Very nice place to stay. Located in the quiet part of Salzburg, but not far away from the tourist center. We were welcomed by a super friendly staff. It was drizzling a bit when we arrived, which is good as it sets the mood for a cold weather.||||A majestic carpeted staircase greeted us on our way up to our room. Paintings of Salzburg made by local artists adorn the walls for guests to see and perhaps purchase. It could also be a way to relax you and de-stress you while climbing the stairs and forget that the hotel has no elevator. ||||Our room looks like an attic with high ceilings, it is very spacious and is spotlessly clean. Two twin beds are underneath a window and two other beds are underneath a roof window - great for stargazing at night. The bathroom and the toilet is very clean, there are 2 spacious cabinets, a mini ref, a heater and an aircon in the room. Fast and free wifi available. ||||There are some days that you are in a hurry to have your first meal of the day. But this particular breakfast is one of those times where in it is nice to sit down, eat your freshly baked croissant and sip a cup of either your hot chocolate or your warm coffee and enjoy the moment with whoever you’re having breakfast with.
