The size of the room was ok. Unfortunately without a balcony.A balcony would have been great.
It was winter but a room was very very warm, I can't imagine how it feels like in summer.
The lift is from 1800s, they need a big and new lift. We had a pram and had to squeeze it inside and then only one person would be able to squeeze themselves inside to go with the baby. The others had to wait for the next round. The lift is too tiny.
Service was anything but friendly. Day one the room was top clean, we were impressed. The rest of the days we begged for our room to be cleaned and nothing happened. The people in charge either give you attitude or rolled eyes if you ask them to do their job! So we always came back to dirty towels on the floor, dirty bathroom...... I had kids who shower in the morning and evening. A clean room and clean towels is not so much to ask for. They should otherwise write on their website that they don't clean rooms during ones stay, only until guests leave. We requested for clean glasses and we were told they've NEVER had guests who requested for clean glasses. Our glasses got dirty from juice and milk, we had KIDS. So it was expected of us to keep using the dirty glasses the whole week we were there!!! Our room had no kitchen.
Breakfast was ok. The only fruits we saw were some miserable looking tangerines and apples. Nothing more. Every single day! Sometimes the vegetables were not fresh. The milk was always cold. We enjoy warm/ hot cocoa once in a while. They have nothing that one could use yo warm the baby's food.
Personally we found the location too far from the city center.
All in all, i wouldn't visit this...
Read moreBooked in here because it looked half decent on booking.com. This district of Vienna looks like it's out of a communist country. Depressing. Grafitied. Parking in the street for a fee of €8.Our rental car was scratched the next morning. Agreed with another review, after seing the old hotel we were not enticed to have breakfast for €7.50 but walked to the nearest bakery which is 5 min away in Huttelberg Gasse. They roll up the sidewalks here and the only thing open after 8pm are pizza shops. Walk to the subway 10 minutes, take the U4 to Vienna. Old and uncomfortable carriages. Expensive tickets. There are supermarkets like Hofer and Lidl around. Room was very small. Free Wifi. Could not wait to leave. Staff were young and did not make an effort in dressing professionally. Would not recommend unless you want cheap...
Read moreGood: value for price,;helpful, knowledgable and friendly staff (kitchen, check-in, breakfast—everyone); small but very functional and comfortable room; comfortable bed; good high-pressure hot water,;old solid oak doors and high ceilings; very clean and well-maintained (everything worked); great restaurants (Retsina, Lindberg, etc.) in the neighborhood||Bad: Internet was unusable from my room; duplicate EMail requests from hotel to fill out pre-checkin information; no restaurant beyond breakfast (but see above); expensive and blaisé breakfast and coffee (this is Vienna, for gosh sakes!); small stairway up from street-level entrance (a slight challenge for handicap accessibility, for example)||Verdict: I'll certainly book here again on my next...
