They try to take your money with every step you take.
I wrote and asked whether it is possible to check-in before 3pm and they replied: maybe your room won't be ready but we will find you a bed and you can leave the luggage with us. Ok, sounds fine. So I came with my luggage, which wasn't very heavy but still hard for me to carry since I am disabled.
But when I came, there were no rooms or beds available and yes, I could leave the luggage, but if I rent a locker - 2.5€ for 6hrs, 4€ for a day. The locker room was not close to the reception, it was in this basement, so I went to see my options. The locker-machine had a sign that you could pay by card and nobody from the staff told me differently. So I took my luggage and went downstairs. Turns out, you can't pay by card, you need coins. Went upstairs, asked for small change, but at that point I was already tired, in pain and very upset. Went back down and left my luggage in the locker, came back later to check-in.
On both occasions, the staff wasn't very useful or helpful, they looked like they just wanted to get rid of me. So they gave me the key to my room and a coupon for a free drink and told me that I should respect my roommates - I am a grown up person, and I would have liked better that they had told me the locker needs coins. Turned out tomorrow morning that you can use the coupon only at the bar and not at the hostel's cafe, and that the bar opens at 12pm, so I couldn't use the coupon since I had to check out before 11am. Of course nobody gave me that info.
Oh, I could have a morning coffee at the hostel's cafe, but... The door was locked and - without the key to your room, you can't go in the cafe. You have to pay 1€ just to enter.
It is not about the money, it is about the principle and the treatment of guests - therefore I just wanted to get out of that place asap. So I left with a very bad impression of uninterested and insensitive staff and a hostel based on a low-cost airlines business model, the only exception being it is not THAT cheap in comparison to other places in Vienna. They charge you a nice amount of money on Booking, they don't give options to cancel, and then they don't give their helpless guests all the info because they want more of their money... Small change. Coins. Which makes it more awful.
The size of the room was ok, the beds are standard hostel beds, it feels like you are on a train, not very comfortable but all right for that type of accommodation. You have a cage box under the bed for the things you carry, but if you want to leave it safe...Yes, you guessed right: you need to rent a padlock.
The bathroom looked clean yet... Of course, it is a hostel, so no towels (they rent them for 3€!), I had my own, but when I went to take a shower I realized the bath was clogged and while I was showering the water kept rising up... I thought, maybe I need to pay 2€ in coins to make the sewer work? Maybe the water will not stop and the room will be flooded and I will have to pay for the damage done?
Luckily, none of that happened. I could leave the facility and...

First at all the hostel provide way less facilities comparing to others young hostels from all over the world . -no kitchen -no laundry -Luggage room you have to pay for it -the común area is just a 5X5 square right in front the reception (so imposible for chilling there cuz the long queues of people waiting to do check ins ,asking questions and so on ) so for me is just a waiting room -no común showers ! And just one shared toilet for all the hostel . (You also have rooms that have bathrooms en-suite , but considering that there are more guests in the room you might have to wait for take Showers , brush your teeth and for all the hygiene process , and better not talk about the toilet ! -I was there for 4 nights , room 507 , there was a corner full of dust , but for real imposible to do not notice it , I saw the cleaning staff doing some work but they have to go deep in the situation , I mean is not only their fault is actually fault of how they manage the hostel , it might be a person who check the rooms right after they complete tasks every day apart of the cleaning staff to improve their performance . So the amount of dust was there for all my stay. (So if you have some allergies , is the hell) -first impressions as a hostels is súper importante and it happens during the check in , some of the staff was quite rude, no the guy who was working hard to do all of them , the girl next to him ,she left all the hard work to this guy , while she was only on the computer not even informing the Guests about how they performance the check in or either greeting them to make the waiting thing smooth . As a hostel you should really improve this thing, first impressions are one of the most important . And provide staff with better skills and recruit them with a natural sociability. (Most of the guys were super nice , sadly the girls were the opposite )
-location is not the best , no bars , restaurants around just a wired walkable street that during the night looks super creepy . The only good thing is to have the metro a few meters . So you might take it often .
Totally disappointed of...
Read moreThis was the absolute worst and traumatising hostel experience I have ever had.
I made the booking through a travel agency platform, because my employer paid for the stay. During the morning, I decided to stay one more day and asked a female receptionist if it is possible to extend the booking. I waited for a good 15 minutes to make sure that everything is OK, when she extended the stay with one night. She said everything is OK and the booking was extended. So thinking everything is good, I went back to the room.
Later that day, a male employee from the reception storms in the room, slamming the door open with force so that it hit the wall and yelling at me that I have to “LEAVE OR PAY NOW”. I was deeply shocked about their aggression, and froze in shock. Mind you, that this was a large man yelling and aggressively approaching a small person.
I tried to immediately explain that I made the booking through my job travel booking agency and the stay needs to be billed through there - so if there is any problem I can just book an additional night through the booking agency platform. The male receptionist maintained the aggressive approach yelling at me that I need to leave now or pay, and did not listen to anything I said. In the end, I had to pay it from my own card, when my job was supposed to pay for the stay. I was in deep shock, hands shaking while paying, and thinking of it afterwards, I should have probably packed my things and left and booked another place. But I was deeply scared and in shock about the behavior of the male receptionist, so it was hard to make a rational decision.
The receptionist was aggressive, scary (borderlining physically violent slamming the door) and I was deeply traumatised by this experience. I was scared for the rest of the stay in this place, and felt deeply unsafe.
I absolutely do not suggest staying here, unless you want to be screamed at and intimidated by the staff, and to live through a...
