As a boutique hotel, one's expectations has to be adjusted for its size and uniqueness. Thus, overall, I am providing a five stars but there is some room for service improvement. So let's start with why I gave it a five star even though not everything was perfect. The hotel staff is wonderfully friendly, the breakfast was a beauty, not to mention it was delicious, the hotel is clean, the rooms are nicely decorated, and the location is hard to beat as it is right next to the train station. For those who wants to wander into the town center, it's only a short stroll in a safe environment. ||But as a small hotel, it has some quirks. For example, my room on the 3rd floor did not have any windows facing the street; it only had a pair of sunroom. Since it was cloudy or snowy in the five days I stayed there, the sunroom was not much use. Worse, for reasons I don't understand, there were 4 bath towels in my room on Day 1, but there was no replenishment even though one bath tower was used every day. I had to ask for towel replenishment (including the face towel). Even there, they did not replace lotions. The phone only worked partially, even though I raised the problem on Day 2. Worse, if you leave after hours, the front door locks and you have to enter with the room key. But if you forgot the room key, then you are left out in the cold without anyone opening the door. There is a number to call, but that number is posted at the counter which is too far for most people to read. ||So here's how I came to a five star even with these complaints: the breakfast is a six star, the friendly service is a seven star, the location is a 5 star, the room on the third floor is at best a 3 star and so where the services. It nets out to a high 4.5 so...
Read moreBooked this last minute on a way back to the UK from a road trip across Europe. As it was late, we weren't looking for anything special just wanted to get some sleep and carry on with the journey home.||We were pleasantly surprised. The room was very comfortable, decor was lovely, receptionists extremely helpful.||Breakfast was also great and service very professional and courteous. We couldn't believe we got a lovely Deluxe Room with separate seating area for 118 EUR only and only 7 EUR dog charge. We have stayed at some 4 star hotels that cost 3-4 times more than this and they didn't even compare to this.||There is a train station next to the hotel, but you can't hear any noise at all. It's great for people exploring Austria by train. I believe there are direct trains to Salzburg and other major cities from here. ||They also have a great restaurant, shame we didn't get to try it.||Highly...
Read moreI was positively surprised. I was impressed from the moment I walked through the entrance.||||The location was ideal, just across the street from the train terminal and a supermarket. ||||The room was absolutely lovely (see pics). Adequate size rooms giving enough space to have your own space. We were three in a room which could have felt crowded but not at all. The room (and the hotel in general) was extremely well-maintained and kept immaculately clean with keen attention to detail and a very luxurious feel. The bed was super comfortable, room temperate was pleasant. ||||The continental breakfast was exceptional (see pics). Such a variety of everything; no skimping on quality either. ||||The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Thank you, Heidi for your wonderful service and attention! ||||I can't sing enough praises. The only negative is that we didn't...
