Me & my family have stayed here at the Garni with Veronica, who, we've found very hospitable & outgoing.
Strategically located 12.7 Miles/20.5KM off the A12/E60/E45 from Innsbruck, nestled in the valleys, in the village of Westendorf, with plenty of amenities a stones throw from the hotel, a restaurant opposite, & one next door, a bank 02 doors down & a Spar convenience store 03 doors down, & a Billa mini supermarket opposite the Spar, there is also a petrol station opposite (the hotel is on a cross juction between streets), should you need to fill your vehicle, before making like whhels & spinning your way away from the village on your next excursion
Veronica has a large varied breakfast buffet for guests to sample, which has plenty of choice, from the usual croissants & jam, bread & jam, cheeses, hams, etc, to hot breakfast foods such as scrambled eggs & possibly more (not that I can say, as I generally tend not to eat breakfast).
The establishment is very clean & tidy, & the beds very comfortable, with panoramic mountain, ski slope & hillside village views (dependant on the side of the hotel you're on). There is also at least 01, maybe 02 small flats, consisting of an open plan living, dining, bed & kitchen room, a bedroom behind the main room, & a shower room off the back bedroom, suitable for families, with enough space for camp beds/inflatable matresses, if there're more than 02 kids.
On occasion, during travelling, we've had fresh produce in the car, which Veronica will olbligingly refrigerate overnight for us, until we were ready to leave the hotel, upon request. However, usually, before leaving her hotel, she always insists we take numerous bread rolls, cheese, ham/meats & spreads for our for our long trips, after moving on to our next destination.
We, as a travelling family, find Veronica obliging on all aspects, if you ask her for extra tea making equipment, milk, sugar, teabags, coffee, or towels, soap, shampoo etc, she'll be there with extras of what you need in a flash.
She will also go to the extent of allowing us to park our car(s) on her driveway, to load or unload, or to drop a family member at the door, as we usually have at least 01 disabled member with us on our trips.
Due to this, we will continue to use the Garni as often as possible, until we are unable to travel abroad to them.
We look forward to our...

Breakfast is a nice, light European breakfast, put me further at home. There's attention to detail at this hotel that big chain hotels don't have. It's not sterile.
Now for the meat of the whole thing. The people. The three people I met that work there were polite, friendly, always with a smile & a kind word. Who I believe are the owner & her co-owner (I should've asked ay?) were full of jokes & positivity. They will remember what you talked about earlier. They have great personalities & a welcoming energy. Genuine & caring human beings, a refreshing change to meet people like this, down to earth, level-headed & positive. I checked in pretty late (9:30pm) after a flight & a long drive from Milan & the owner, she was so welcoming & perky that whatever exhaustion I had disappeared. Even with a few hours of sleep during my stay due to the nature of my work, the energy those two put out was infectious & wonderful!
I would only want to go back if I could only stay at their hotel & to enjoy the weather & the landscape. Winter might be a wonderland over there & I can only imagine the Christmas decorations at the hotel in December.
I wish...
Read moreGood looking hotel in beautifull place. Clean room, free parking is very close, good breakfast.
The breakfast is delicious, but its not enough. Reluctantly bring an additive of fried eggs. A cunning hostess gave us not the room that we booked. Instead of 20 sq.m. with one double bed and a cot we got a 15 sq.m. with two single beds without the possibility of connecting them and cot. The hostess explained this by our late arrival (however we booked the room in advance), and also that this room is very large and in other rooms the cot does not fit. (Why while booking it is possible to add a baby cot to the rooms where it does not fit? :)) The discount for this incident was abandoned, remembering that our 1,5 years old child had also eaten breakfast (really, only 0,2 l of hot water for our porridge). From the description: children from 0 to 2 years old are free. It means free of charge, no...
