My husband and I just returned from Harbor Island this past weekend. We were there celebrating our son’s wedding. We were supposed to stay at another hotel but upon arrival made a decision to change our hotel and stayed at Coral Sands. That turned out to be an excellent decision. |From the moment we arrived at the front desk we were greeted with friendly people and smiling faces. When things go smoothly upon check in you get a sense that you’re in the right place. |We stayed in a bungalow which from what I understand was recently renovated along with the rest of the hotel rooms and public spaces. The room was spacious, beautifully designed and decorated. |As I mentioned above, we were there for our son’s wedding and unfortunately on the first night we were supposed to have a catered dinner at a private home for 25 people. The caterer was MIA so at approximately 7pm we were desperately looking for a place to dine with 25 people. We called Coral Sands and they thankfully and graciously agreed to take on this large group with absolutely zero notice. |I really don’t know how they did it but they saved the day. From the service, attention to detail and the the delicious dinner, they helped turn an unexpected and unfortunate situation into a memorable evening for the kick off party. |There are too many people to mention in this review so suffice it to say everyone we met during our stay was very kind, welcoming and professional. I am making an extra effort to share my experience at the Coral Sands because I was in the hotel business for 12 years and I know how challenging it can be. |The food was amazing. I ate lunch there every day. The black bean hummus dip with the plantain chips was delicious and I had the jerk chicken skewers three days in a row along with the dip. |I guess you can tell how much I enjoyed my stay at the newly renovated Coral Sands and in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger...

On June 9th my husband and I checked out of this resort after attending a destination wedding and the night before we checked out we were robbed by an employee of this resort for over 9 thousand dollars in cash and Jewelry. The hotel owners did absolutely nothing! The hotel manager and staff knew exactly who was at the hotel and who was last in our room and floor. We waited all night and the next morning to see if they would at least interview their employees. The owner Selma’s Response was “it’s very difficult for me to get employees in this island, I can’t just accuse anyone”. Actually, she can, especially knowing who exactly were there, she chose not to, which leaves me to believe they were all in on it. My husband went to the police station, wrote a report that we were never able to obtain to today. The owner asked us not to make any reviews until she was able to investigate. Today is a month later and the owners response was “I’m sorry, I’m not taking responsibility for what happen”. The least she could have done was compensate our room charges, especially after the amount of money my friend spent on her wedding, and al her guests spent that weekend. I hope you all take my review seriously. This lady Selma is from Miami and is a crook, her demeanor is very unprofessional. The thief is still working at this hotel, which means it will happen again. And btw, we were not the only ones this happen to, we learned from their staff that this has happen before. Please stay far away from this place, don’t let them fool you.
