We have been returning to Pink Sands for years now—enough years that the particular shade of coral in the walls has become, for us, a kind of Proustian trigger for something elusive: the feeling of arriving somewhere that knew how to leave you alone while still taking care of you.

On our last visit, we found the refurbishment. Fresh paint, new linens, staff trained in that contemporary hospitality school manner—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about wine pairings, capable of answering questions about thread counts. All admirable. All correct.

And yet.

There is a quality that places possess when they have evolved organically from their own soil, their own people, their own particular history. Pink Sands had this—a Bahamian soul, if you will. The kind of warmth that cannot be taught in a training seminar. The kind of charm that comes from generations of knowing how to welcome strangers the Bahamian way.

We sense this slipping away. Not gone, not yet. But fading, like paint in the salt air.

The danger, of course, is homogenization. That creeping Floridian sensibility, that Nassau-style sensation-seeking, threatens every beautiful place that makes the mistake of being discovered. Pink Sands could so easily become another interchangeable luxury resort—pristine, five-star, utterly forgettable beach. The kind of place that exists everywhere and therefore nowhere.

That would be the real loss. Not the old furniture or the slightly shabby bar or the staff who knew your name without checking a computer. The loss would be of something ineffable: the sense that you had arrived somewhere that could only be itself and nowhere else.

Let us hope the management understands what they have. Glory, after all, is not found in marble lobbies and infinity pools. It resides in the specific, the local, the irreplaceable.

We will return. One always does. But we will be watching, as one watches all things one loves, for signs of what is being preserved and what, despite everyone’s best intentions, is being allowed to...

Prezzi : troppo elevati. Pulizia a terra stanza : discreta.

We stayed here after 3 nights at the adjacent Coral Sands. While located on the same beach, they couldn't have been more different. Coral Sands does have a "grander" feel to it's main building, but the advantages of Pinks Sands are apparent the moment you interact with the staff. They are welcoming, kind, thoughtful, and responsive. Tina, Vanessa, Ronnie, Ms K, and Nel (who literally brought some forgotten items to the airport!?) are what make any stay at Pink Sands worth every penny. Having been subjected to the absolute indifference shown by the Coral Sands staff, we would have been happy with a simple smile and hello, but the folks at Pink Sands went way beyond that to make us feel comfortable. ||A few examples: Three days on the beach at Coral Sands and we weren't offered a beach menu once, despite that service existing. Whereas at Pink Sands Ronnie had us covered before our feet hit the sand and from every moment onward. During check-in at Coral Sands we asked for a printed itinerary to make it easy to see our schedule, despite multiple requests and interactions with the GM this never happened. Vanessa at Pink Sands had this same request done within a few minutes during check-in. I could go on to include the daily yoga with Ms K, the restaurant Malcom 51, or the exceptional chicken sandwich at the beach, or the caring the staff put into helping our children find a quiet nights sleep during an event on property. Every interaction was a chance to shine, and they showed brightly every time.||If you want to enjoy a relaxing time on a beautiful beach at a full-service hotel, we highly recommend Pink Sands. The accommodations, amenities, and location are on par or better than others in the area, but the people are always what makes a full-service hotel great, and Pink...

Wonderful experience! The staff were all welcoming, pleasant and would go out of their way to make you comfortable. The cottages were gorgeous, grounds well manicured, and the setting was idyllic. The beach views were simply breathtaking. The food was always fresh, well-prepared, well-presented and excellent. The food preparation rivaled what we have experienced at fine resorts around the world. Beyond that, the service was off the charts. Everyone remembered your name, spent time chatting, and went out of their way to make sure you were happy. The setting is very peaceful, laid back and easy. If you are looking to relax, unplug and unwind, this is the place! The beaches are wide, with very few people so it feels very private and serene. The water was the cleanest we had ever seen, with hands down, the softest sand we had ever felt anywhere in the world. Although you can feel as secluded as you want, the town is a few blocks away. We wandered the streets soaking in the local culture and just like at the resort, the people were kind, helpful and we always felt safe. It was a pleasure to meet the local residents and feel safe and welcome wherever we went. Overall, this was an amazing experience, the Pink Sands Resort is hands down a 5 star resort for those looking to unwind and relax.

We had an amazing time at Pink Sands Resort. We stayed in the Providence villa and enjoyed the private pool, high-quality appliances, and comfortable atmosphere of the property. The service was wonderful, as all the staff wanted to ensure we had a pleasant and memorable experience. Huge shout out to concierge Rhonda, who took the time and effort to personally plan excursions for us around the island, including jet skis, island tours, and a sunset cruise. I could tell she genuinely cared for us. That kind of amazing service makes me want to come back next year. The beach was perfect and not crowded, however we went in mid August during off season. I loved the breakfast.

Pink Sands resort is in a beautiful setting on a stunning beach. Other than that, the resort was disappointing. Most importantly, the cottage was tired and run down. Stains on chair, mold in the shower, unclean floors, really uncomfortable bed with lumpy pillows, doors that don't really provide security, gross mini bar area. Main restaurant (Malcom 51) is beautiful, food is mediocre. Not bad, but not great. The pool/beach restaurant was equally ok, not great. They ran out of tortilla chips one day and Pina Coladas the next. Overall, not horrible, but not worth the VERY high price tag. Could be a stunning and perfect resort with more attention given to the details.
