I wanted so badly to give this place five stars, but I cannot be honest if I do. I have traveled to many places in the Caribbean, paid much less, and have never experienced such a series of mistakes as we did with Goldwynn, despite planning ahead with their staff. We booked round-trip car service to and from the airport in advance and received confirmation that the driver would be waiting outside arrivals with a sign when we exited the airport. However, we landed and waited for 30 minutes with no sign of the driver. When we called the hotel, they said it was an error on the car service company’s part, while the car service claimed the hotel had provided them with the wrong time. A lady outside was helping direct drivers and arrange taxis for other guests, and she found a driver who was able to take us to the hotel. Upon our arrival, the hotel staff apologized and promised to investigate the issue, but we had not heard back from them by the time the next problem arose. I booked a couple’s body scrub and massage for us. We contacted the spa after receiving an email the day before our appointment that only showed the body scrub. The lady assured us that we should have received two emails and that we were confirmed for both services. We arrived at the spa 15 minutes prior to our scheduled treatments, only to be informed that we weren't booked until an hour later. At that point, I was just over it. I approached the front desk and requested to speak with a manager. The manager was kind and apologized, promising to resolve the situation. A few minutes later, she called us to explain that the spa manager had decided to change our treatment to a body wrap that includes a massage for a lower price. While this was a nice gesture, I wondered why they hadn’t asked us if that was acceptable first. We had already been at the resort for two days, so there was ample time to consult with us. There were just too many communication issues throughout our stay, especially considering we weren't there using a voucher or any discount. I bring up vouchers because the resort's salespeople were aggravating and overbearing. We were approached daily, often multiple times a day, and asked if we wanted to attend one of their breakfasts or lunches to learn about residency there. No matter how many times we declined, they persisted, discussing the vouchers they offer for future visits. We met others at the pool and beach who were on vouchers and only attended these sales pitches to receive incentives. This approach was not what we wanted at all. Lastly, I agree with other reviews: the food at the resort is extremely overpriced and not very good. During our five-day stay, the beach/pool bar did not have prawns—no seafood in the Bahamas? We ventured off the resort and had a much better dining experience. We ordered food from outside the resort on the day we reserved a pool cabana. For nearly $7,000 (for a two-bedroom suite, Suite 314) for four nights, we expected a much better experience. While the view is amazing, and the resort is not overcrowded like Baha Mar and some others, the service and food do not match the expectations set by the price.

We stayed at the Goldwynn Resort for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The resort is exceptionally well maintained and spotless. It almost feels overstaffed—in the best way possible. Staff were always present at the pool and beach area, assisting with towels, setting up umbrellas, and ensuring guests were comfortable. This was during the September low season, which made the attentiveness even more impressive. Our ocean view unit was excellent. It featured floor-to-ceiling windows with a spacious, comfortably furnished patio. Inside, the unit was beautifully appointed with a fully equipped kitchen featuring Miele appliances, high-efficiency air conditioning, and motorized sheer and blackout curtains. The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware and flatware, and housekeeping service was top-notch. They also provided a complimentary beach bag and a stainless steel water bottle, both of which were thoughtful and practical touches. The resort’s architecture is another standout feature. Frameless double-glass parapet walls ensure unobstructed views, with one side overlooking the ocean and the other facing a beautifully maintained golf course. The building itself has spacious corridors, high ceilings on every floor, and open common areas, enhancing the overall sense of luxury. A few additional touches elevated our experience even further: A jewelry shop on the premises (mostly jewelry, with some beachwear). A state-of-the-art gym facility. Live piano entertainment in the lobby at night, which created a warm and elegant evening atmosphere. Dining at the resort’s restaurants was excellent, though admittedly on the pricier side—likely in line with the overall cost of living in the Bahamas. The infinity pool was another highlight: large, beautifully designed, and delivering a true “infinity” experience. It sits just steps away from the main building, right on the beach, with the shoreline barely 20 feet away. The beach itself offered crystal-clear water, and staff cleared seaweed every morning, keeping it pristine. Overall: We had a fantastic stay and are already looking forward to our next visit! Suggestion for management: Consider installing a live webcam showcasing the beauty of the ocean—not only as a treat for future guests, but also for past guests to reminisce about their stay, and as a great way to share the resort’s stunning location.

From the luxury transportation, to the complimentary wine on arrival, the beautiful entry with the killer view to the blue blue Caribbean sea, no expense was spared. Gorgeous furnishings in common areas, the natural flora including greenery on the roof. We awoke to peaceful waves lapping at the shore. Our part of the beach soon filled with laughing gulls who i guessed like the calmer more shallow end. The staff is super nice and helpful. Everyone is there to work, they are so kind and try to cater to every need. There is a beautiful spot to sit everywhere you turn. Duly note: 1. 15% gratuity is included in your bill for meals. 2. Across from front desk at check in there will be a free gift in a Tiffany blue with Bahamian rum cake, a drink and an offer of free breakfast if you are willing to get a tour of property and sit thru a "fun 90mins." Highly recommend declining. Up to each person but be forewarned. 3. Next day: you will be talked up and down and offered to give the Wynn family a deposit of 30-60ish K "TODAY" to enjoy discounted weekly rates from properties in 2 books. I imagine some people will be enamored with this . We were not. This would have been 5 stars if not for the 2hr interlude. Cannot get that time back. Anyway, there was no pressure, got a free beach bag ( very nice) and free breakfast. Overall, we had a wonderful time after that 2 hr interlude. Go for the experience of the luxurious hotel, friendly Bahamians, Cable beach. You only live once.

Excellent new hotel! We really enjoyed our family trip. It seems like they have worked out some early complaints and still have some details to improve upon. I would say this is a 4-star establishment, not a 5-star resort bc it doesn’t have all the amenities, finishes, details, or level of service that you would expect. We absolutely loved jt and had an excellent time. Went into a lot of detail in this review in an effort to be helpful to future guests, families, and management: Pros: Brand new so no issues with wear and tear, everything in the 2-bed suite is immaculate Beautiful and tasteful artwork throughout property! Heated infinity pool is the star! You can swim even when it’s chilly or raining. Proximity to beach is unrivaled. You can walk out of your room and be on the sand in one minute. Access to kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling, life jackets (including small children sizes) all free and the staff will help you set it up and launch right on the beach Excellent staff, everyone was kind and helpful. Poolside staff were particularly attentive and consistent. Reception was hit or miss. Bell hops were helpful. Great views (we booked garden because we didn’t want the pool noise) of the golf course and sunrise. Some street noise but with doors closed it was fine. Easy to use climate control system Terraces are comfortable with good furniture Excellent showers and good water pressure Walkable to baha mar, the google maps path is easy. Just look left for traffic! You can also walk down the beach. It felt generally safe but you do have to be attentive. The beaches are all public. The beach area at the Goldwynn feels very safe but it gets a little quieter as you leave, then it’s busy again as you approach Baha mar, which is a zoo. I’m glad we chose Goldwynn. Cons: While the kitchen is well stocked with dinnerware, pots/pans and some tools, it was missing key items, making it hard to cook well (no cutting board, can opener, tongs, or serving bowls or platters), which is a shame because the kitchen is beautiful and has high-end appliances. Just needs more cooking tools. We ordered groceries through food2go. The toaster plug is not compatible with the wall outlet so was not usable. The outlets require a grounded plug (3-prong) so anything with 2 prongs will not work in the unit. The TVs randomly turn on at all times of the day and play music. I’m sure this is fixable but we never told anyone. It did come on in the middle of the night once. Our suite furniture was oddly placed. The master BR’s wardrobe is in the living room so we couldn’t unpack. The only safe is in the 2nd BR. No couch in the bedrooms, but plenty of random desk space, but no chairs or seating. Two small office-type desk drawers and we kept some clothes in there but otherwise just lived out of our suitcases. This was odd! The second BR does have its own wardrobe but that BR is the queen bed with no window and smaller bathroom No tub The restaurant is good but there really is only one for breakfast/lunch then one for dinner (but it’s in the same space) so the lack of variety is a real problem, and it’s very expensive. We walked and/or taxi’d to Baha Mar to eat multiple times ($25-35 one way depending on who you get, pricing was unclear). We also used the Kraven app for food delivery, which worked out most of the time. You do get asked if you want to purchase a residence, but they are not pushy. You can politely decline and they will leave you alone. Based on other reviews, this sounds like a real improvement. Room cleaning was generally good but unpredictable with timing. Sometimes they came when we put out the “yes” sign and sometimes they didn’t. But responsive when we called, most of the time. There is a seaweed issue across all of cable beach. So much of it comes ashore that it accumulates in giant piles and smells a bit, but it’s not that bothersome. Just noticeable. There is a huge truck that comes to collect it in the morning but it gathers throughout the day and by sunset, it’s all...

The Bahamas is beautiful. This was our first time there. I chose Goldwynn Resort based on the size, location, and it looked to be a luxurious resort. You would expect high quality and amazing service, but expectations fell short. I will say the employees are amazing. They are welcoming and so kind.

We arrived and went to the beach bar to eat. That’s when we first encountered food and beverage items not available. It happened again with room service and nearly every time we ordered.

We stayed in the Goldwynn Suite on the 5th floor. It has a magnificent view. Our room wasn’t cleaned the first full day we were there. We had to call and then ended up having the turn down service make beds and replace towels. I will leave a couple of pictures of what our bed looked like. Other days the room cleaning was better.

We had a pool cabana for multiple days. We expected a cabana attendant or someone to come regularly to check on us for food and drinks. We ended up going to the bar and ordering ourselves multiple times. It wasn’t the service you would expect at the pool or on the beach for the price you pay at a luxury resort. Again, everyone was very nice and working hard so it seems to be a management issue.

We loved that they cleaned the beach every morning!

We had a pricey boat excursion through the hotel that was a big let down. We were picked up at the beach in front of the hotel. There is no dock. You have to walk waist high and climb the ladder. My mother slipped and hit her leg getting in. We then headed to swim with the pigs. We drove most of the way at a high uncomfortable speed that had the wind crazy blowing us in the face. With that type of boat, you can’t shield yourself from wind in any way. The nice captain and helper pointed out neat locations along the way which we appreciated. The boat came to a stop offshore along with some other boats. We waited for a guy on a jet ski pulling a banana boat. We had to climb over the side of the boat to get on to ride over to a gross smelly area that had a few pigs walking around on land. By the way, as we were being pulled in, I was videoing and it seemed to be a vendor by his boat at shore so we were all looking but he actually had his pants down urinating. It felt sketchy and like a scam. They brought us fruit and a skewer and we stood in knee deep water that had slippery sharp rocks under our feet and fed the pigs that stood in front of us. This was not what you see in videos or on photos. I kept thinking that a luxury resort sent me here??? We quickly finished and waited for the jet ski, got on the banana boat that took us back to our boat. We then climbed back over the side to get back in. We went and saw two turtles at another location just from the boat. They then took us to a beach because we love to hang out in beautiful water just relaxing. We had some drinks and snacks, but no floats or noodles. We just walked on the beach and then left. That specific beach wasn’t very clean. It was nice, but not somewhere a luxury resort would send you on a boat. We stopped at a place to snorkel for a bit. That was enjoyable. We had some good subway sandwiches. We then left and headed back again at a uncomfortable super windy speed back to the resort. We had to climb back down into the chilly water that evening to get back to shore. The crew was nice. The person in charge of excursions was super kind and helpful. He was only able to get us $200 back after all of that. We paid about $3,300. I am pretty sure that wouldn’t make anyone happy.

Also, I will say that our booking price was definitely not the price we ended up paying. Of course we expected food and drink charges. That is not what I’m referring to. They call it an estimated balance not including any fees or taxes. We spent so much and left feeling so disappointed.

We have stayed at so many different beautiful beach resorts. This resort could be so amazing. Changes need to be made. You can’t put on a luxury facade and lack the service...

This is my second time staying at this hotel. My first stay was in 5/2024 and it was incredible.

My second stay in 6/2025 was a MAJOR disappointment. All the good that I was “sold” on in my first stay had completely vanished during my second stay from the moment I checked in.

I had wished to voice my concerns at the hotel, but was denied a request to speak with management, so I have been left with no choice but to write this review.

I happily booked this trip for two rooms, one for me and my husband, and another for my son and daughter in law. My son has a chronic medical issue and we have not had a family vacation in a decade, so based on our first trip, we were very excited to have the opportunity to have a trip together.

Cam* and Lat** checked us in. Wanted to not provide early check in, OK. Wanted to put me on the 1st floor and my son on the 4th floor and have me move to the 4th floor the next day. How do you have someone unpack, stay in a room one night, pack again, move to another room and then unpack again? This is a very terrible request for a guest who is only here for a few days.

The hotel appeared empty with no one on the beach, walking around or in the restaurant, so I hardly believe the hotel was 100% full.

Claud* came out and said that we could both have our rooms on the 4th floor, but check in would not be until 4. From here on I was blacklisted and treated poorly the rest of my stay.

My room, my son’s and another couple all were told at exactly 4 o’clock our rooms were ready. Purposely none of us were given even a single minute of early check in so we could enjoy the beach (which is what we came here for) Like I said, the hotel was empty and it was a Monday, so they purposely made us wait out of spite.

Checkin in 2024 were personable and FLAWLESS. Checkin in 2025 was TERRIBLE, off to a bad start.

Light switches in room were not working when pressed. The bed was terrible, completely deflated on both sides and high in the middle. The hotel is only a couple years old…

Staff was not very friendly, welcoming, happy, personable, just very inexperienced, misguided and not helpful.

You can sit on the beach all day, and no one will come up to you and ask you if you want to order a drink or food, which I wanted to do many times.

There is no pest control. You cannot sit outside and eat or drink without being swarmed by flies.

The glass railing surrounding OIA outside is filthy with grease and fingerprints, obviously never cleaned. The tables often contained crumbs.

One waitress who served our table on multiple occasions had hickies all over her neck, which was such an eyesore to see in a “classy Luxury boutique hotel.”

Upon checking out, Cam** was annoyed when he had to explain my room charges properly to understand that I was being charged the correct amount.

I also was told they need me to give back the wrist band provided to us to wear at the hotel and use to get into our rooms. It is great to know that I wore a wristband for 4 days. Who knows how many other people have worn it before me. What a joke…

Konstantina and Ruby were the only staff members who were happy to help, serve and make you feel good to be on vacation. Konstantina made the delicious coffee everyday and was the only one who would serve you on the beach or at the pool.

Cam* and Lat* were the lying hotel gatekeepers who were there to shut you up and prevent you from seeing the hotel manager, who was never to be seen.

The restaurant managers along with the majority of the staff may as well be a statue because they didn’t do much but stand around.

The bar at night had nothing to snack on, like peanuts, in order to keep you ordering drinks and having a good time.

I was sold on a second stay after my first stay was the complete opposite. All the staff that were there on my first stay were GONE…I wonder why…

You should not do this to guests, as you have forever tainted your reputation in my mind and I will not return, and will think twice about going to...
