Words cannot express my disgust for this “all inclusive” resort. THE ONLY 2 EMPLOYEES THAT MADE A LASTING POSITIVE IMPRESSION ARE DAN AND JEFFREY. Dan works harder than anyone I have ever met, his polite manner is genuine and heartfelt. Guests can rely on Dan to get stuff done, and he is extremely personable and accommodating. Jeffrey intervened when the laundry situation later described went out of control. He is a man of his word, and while the rest of the staff were busy avoiding the situation or telling us nonsense, Jeffrey addressed the situation and was super understanding of my unwillingness to accept any of the nonsense excuses from the front lobby staff. The rest of the staff have deplorable attitudes, very phony and in my opinion racist towards inter racial couples. We encountered so many attitudes and teeth sucking from these ignorant backwards people. My wife, 2 teenage sons, and I arrived this past Friday, May 17th. We requested a refrigerator to store insulin, as the rooms do not come with one. The fridge supplied did not work, and the insulin was spoiled. Then the food. “Food”. In food services, we call that garbage, also HACCP nightmares. It is obvious this island does not conduct any type of inspections, and the staff certainly could care less. The staff leave raw meats out for hours in the sun, chicken thighs for the pretend jerk chicken, burger patties that were raw, yet brown due to being left in the sun, again for hours, on a counter, with no refrigeration being utilized. The buffet is a nightmare, with pans of slop, danishes and pastries from the freezer, expired boxes of cereal, and poorly prepared food. Yogurt was room temperature, and you would think they have ice cubes made of gold, the way they actually count ice cubes for drinks. The “Italian Restaurant” serves chicken parmesan that is breaded with the dollar general version of parmesan cheese. Not edible, par for course at Breezes. The food is absolute trash. My family and I had to wander into dangerous areas to find food that was palatable. The “medical staff” is comprised of some malnourished looking local that smells like rotten fish and refuses to help anyone, her attitude was disgusting. After I stepped in to the “medical office””, she asked my wife “why are you here”. My wife responded she was my wife, and with me. This so called nurse sucked her teeth and gave some kind of rude grunt, showing her obvious racist attitude. My toe was lacerated in their pool, and she was hard pressed to give more than a bandaid or 2, and had a horrible attitude towards both my wife and I, due to us being a biracial couple. When I requested more than 2 bandaids, she told me tro buy from the resort store. Resort store carries souvenirs and snacks, not any medical supplies. My wife and I had to take turns asking the front desk for supplies out of their first aid kit, which was also sadly limited. I am currently back in the United States and admitted to a hospital with cellulitus and on 100 medications to get rid of whatever disgusting bacteria got into my toe while staying in this hovel. The laundry clown (Clive a coward that hangs up on customers when they call to ask how the BRAND NEW white clothing had orange stains all over.) destroyed my laundry, and then tried to compensate me for one shirt. I had to have an entire episode in the lobby, screaming and yelling, in order to get reimbursed, even then that was like pulling teeth. I witnessed several times a day the top shelf liquor bottles being filled with cheap versions/well drinks, as they only purchase enough top shelf liquor to have a bottle at each bar daily. I’m not sure how this place doesn’t have it’s own shuttle bus either, forcing tourists and guests to rely on some fugazi scam artist taxi drivers. It is a shame that such a beautiful place could be run into the ground by greed and unprofessional employees with bad attitudes. The racism is disgusting, and I wouldn’t return to this place if it was the last resort on earth. I’d take my...

After the worst travel experience getting to the Bahamas, we were relieved to finally arrive—albeit a day late.
Check-in Experience
Despite calling ahead to inform the hotel of our delay due to airline issues, we were met with an unfriendly employee at check-in. She insisted we wait for the standard check-in time and still charged us for the missed night. We asked for a manager, and after what felt like an eternity, she returned and suddenly allowed us to check in early.
First Impressions
The resort is outdated, with worn-out furniture and a noticeable dirty mop water smell everywhere.
Room
We booked a partial ocean view room, but the experience was disappointing:
No coffee pot, fridge, or basic amenities—something to note if you expect them.
Unpleasant odor and a very uncomfortable bed.
Maintenance Issues
Leaking A/C Unit:
Our clothes in the closet got soaked due to water dripping from the air conditioning unit.
When we called maintenance, they couldn’t hear us, so we had to go down in person.
The manager and maintenance team came up, confirmed the leak, and cleaned it.
As compensation, we received $75 in Breezes Bucks, but the gift shop had little we wanted.
Broken TV & Phone Issues:
After a long day, the TV stopped working.
Again, the front desk couldn’t hear us when we called.
We had to go down to report it, and they sent maintenance.
The maintenance team also mentioned the broken phone, but we were too tired to deal with it after they fixed the TV.
Do Not Disturb Means Nothing Here:
8:30 PM: After a long day on the water, we put the Do Not Disturb sign on and fell asleep. Suddenly, loud banging on the door woke us up—it was maintenance wanting to check the phone.
Midday Nap: Another day, we tried to nap but got woken up by repeated knocking. We ignored it at first, but the staff wouldn’t stop. When we finally opened the door, it was just to hand us towels.
Resort Experience
Noise Level & Sleep Quality
This is NOT a quiet resort.
Rowdy guests and loud parties go well into the night, and you hear everything in the rooms.
We expected some noise, but there seemed to be no limit to how late or loud things got.
"Adults-Only" (Not Really)
Despite being an adults-only resort, for three out of six days, there were tons of kids running around.
They were loud, rowdy, and dominated the pool area, even late at night.
Pool Area
Crowded and not well-maintained.
Pool chairs are uncomfortable—you have to ask for blue cushions, but staff makes it difficult.
Towel service was inconsistent—one moment they were “out,” then suddenly had a full supply.
Staff gave conflicting information on how to get a cushion. After running around, I finally got one, but we later found out they weren’t allowed on the beach and had to give them back.
Pool wasn’t worth the hassle, so we stuck to the beach.
Staff & Service
Very mixed experience. Some staff were friendly and helpful, but others were unhappy, rude, and dismissive.
Tips ARE expected but technically still not "allowed" . Despite the website saying tips aren’t accepted, they absolutely are, and service varies depending on whether you tip.
Beach
Crowded but beautiful. Definitely a better experience than the pool.
Food & Dining
Main Buffet & Restaurants
Bad. Seriously bad.
After a couple of meals, I didn’t trust the meat—it tasted off, and I had stomach issues every time.
The pasta restaurant was heavily over-seasoned—probably to compensate for otherwise bland food.
The One Good Spot: Beach BBQ
The only food worth eating at the resort.
Conch fritters were great, but most options were fried foods.
They did have crab salad and a few other decent choices.
Alternative: Baha Mar
Baha Mar is nearby and has much better food.
We ended up eating there multiple times and will stay there for future visits.
Final Thoughts
Would I return? No. Between unhelpful staff, lack of sleep, maintenance issues, and terrible food, this resort was not worth it.
Future Recommendation: Stay at Baha...
Read moreI've never done a negative review but in this case, I don't want families like ours, who saved and planned for a bucket-list holiday in the Bahamas, to share our experience.
The saving grace of this resort is the location. We had a blast whenever we went into town. The beach is gorgeous. Besides that, this place was a bummer.
Room: Because we had my handicapped mother with us, our room was on the ground floor. It had a walk-out patio with a "beach view" and hammock; a table and chair were added later in the week. These are amenities other rooms didn't have, which felt lucky until we learned some things: -The shower didn't always work and never closed properly, so every day, our bathroom flooded. -The toilet didn't flush properly and as such, the bowl was also never cleaned. -Intermittent housekeeping was simply unacceptable when there's a sandy patio at one entrance and a flooded bathroom at the other of a tile floor. -Sometimes, TV only had sound. Several of the dresser drawers were broken. Many of the outlets did not work.
One positive is the ac always worked.
Food and Drink: The food was sometimes bad, and sometimes unremarkable. Somehow, the buffet food was usually both over-cooked and concerningly cold. The salad bar at the buffet was usually pretty good, but one cannot access the buffet in their beach/lounge wear so on beach days, the only food available was from the beach grill which offered hot dogs/burgers/fries, or a Greek salad. Sometimes, the "world famous" conch fritters and jerk chicken (which was actually great) was available, but not always. It is important to note that between breakfast and lunch, between lunch and dinner, and any time after 9:30, no food at all is available.
During the day, the only places to get drinks were at the self-service buffet (for those who were properly dressed) or the beach bar, which almost always ran out of ice, pre-mixed frozen drinks, lemons and limes, and sometimes beer (and the soda from the bars was gross). I once watched them serve a woman a beer from the foam dump pitcher under the tap. She was wasted and didn't care, but....ewww. At night, there was a bar near the lounge which served the same bottom-shelf liquor minus the frozen drink options.
Service: Service was not great and sometimes downright bad. While off-resort, every single Bahamian we met was beautifully kind and friendly. On the resort, however, the workers were poorly managed and many were clearly disgruntled, especially the bartenders. Many (not all) were off-putting and unfriendly. There are many examples of bad service, but here's one: on our last night, our waitress at the buffet outright refused to get my mother a milk from the kitchen (she needs it to take her medication and it's not available at the buffet) unless we pre-tipped her...and then she brought back a glass of warm CREAM! As previously mentioned, housekeeping was intermittent at best. Twice our room wasn't cleaned at all, and another two times, it wasn't cleaned until I called and requested, at minimum, towels that weren't used to clean up shower floods and a basic sweep of the sand on the floor.
Facilities: The facilities are a disaster. While the grounds have some very beautiful spots, nothing has been properly maintained for a long time. The lounge chairs on the beach were covered in black mildew stains and many were broken. The gutters are rusted out; there were huge, dangerous puddles on the slippery tile floors. During a rainstorm I watched a woman suffer a TBI the moment she stepped onto the tiles during a rain storm (an event which was also managed horribly but that's a story someone else can tell); directly above that hallway was a rusted-out gutter dumping water directly onto the floor. Sandbags were stored right next to the sidewalk so obviously, this was a known, long-term problem.
These are only some examples. Breezes needs a complete overhaul, especially of those who are in charge of managing it. Until this happens, our family recommends you spend your hard-earned...
