Hotel Fountain — Hotel in Dhaka Metropolitan

March 17, 2021 - brought a friend of mine with his wife and a teenage son this afternoon. They're from Sylhet on their way to USA via Doha following day very early in the morning.

Check-in: was as smooth as it can be! I did 'early check-in' on behalf of my friend. Nice greetings and well-received at the F/desk. Prompt, efficient warm and courteous with a smile. Reasonable price with a generous discount for us since  I know the owners.

The room: (#303) was exactly what we've asked for, a double with a/c (brand new). Clean sheets, well-furnished very wide and comfortable beds with white linen. Ample furniture, nice drapes and all the shower amenities, fresh towels in the bathroom.

Lunch - although late afternoon, my friend ordered some lunch through room-service. White rice,  Chicken Jhalfrezi and Dal Makhwani was served promptly by a courteous waiter. Clean plates and silverware with complimentary salad was brought for us and served. Very reasonable pricing.  I noticed, they have a wide selection of foods, which made me happy.

Lobby - their lobby is well-decorated, with plenty of couches for seating. Two wide-screen monitors keep the guests well entertained. In the evenings the hotel plays soft, soothing background music. The water fountain is a nice compliment with the chandeliers and a lobby cafe which serves a full assortment of coffee and pastries.

F&b - this hotel has banquet services, 24/7 room service, lobby cafe and a rooftop restaurant. The rooftop restaurant run by Idris (Exec. Chef) has a food menu with wide selections, i.e. Continental, Chinese, Thai, Indian and Bangla foods. In the evenings it has a nice view and fresh bar-b-q every evening.

It was previously known as Hotel Tree Top. It has taken over by current management. Location is very good for airport passengers. Rooms sizes are good. But, they don’t have any King size bed in any room. I booked with full full room rent for my friends family of 3 members including a baby going to USA from Sylhet. While I booked the room they assure me that the room has a king size bed. But, it was a semi double bed while my friends family checked into the room. Later hotel management informed me that they don’t have any king size bed. It was 1:15 am. Then my friends family have shift to another hotel in Uttara that night. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in who called it self luxury. Found dirty stained disgusting bed sheets and hair under the comforter . When I called room service they 1st told me it's a laundry wash stain, it clearly was not. After room service finally arrived and showed them then gave me an apology. Only 2 bottles of water were in the room. I called the room service and they told me to call the restaurant but no one picked up. I left to check out and asked for water again and had to wait 25 min for a bottle. The room itself was full of water and other stains.
