Minsk Marriott Hotel — Hotel in Minsk

I was deeply impressed with the warmth and friendliness of Viktoryia and her Front Office team in handling all my concerns and requests. At Minsk Marriott, I realised that the brand of “Marriott” goes beyond than simply a hotel chain but indeed denotes a symbol of guarantee of servicing standard. Out of my surprise, I did not expect to locate a Marriott property in Belarus which has been considered a close ally of Russia where Marriott ceased all its operation due to the ongoing conflicts with Ukraine. With Marriott having presence in Belarus, I felt relieved and then decided without hesitation to book with them for all my nights in Minsk. Shortly upon reservation, I contacted the team regarding my room preference and amenities requests which were perfectly arranged and well set up prior to my arrival. Once I stepped into the lobby of this property I was in a firm belief that everything should be alright because of my longstanding confidence in the professionalism of Marriott’s associates. My belief was proven to be true. The hospitality professionals at Marriott Minsk were strongly passionate about servicing with heart, extremely dedicated to putting my experience on the top priority, paying utmost attention to my concerns and feedbacks, and seeking all possible ways of making my stay as the most enjoyable and satisfying ever. Despite that some of the frontline associates could not speak very good English, the language barrier was completely overcome by their attentiveness, eagerness, kindness as well as thoughtfulness. I would love spreading the good news about such a wonderful team at Marriott Minsk by mentioning the names of each and every one of them to whom I was grateful for their 24/7 assistance, great surprises, impeccable services and exceptional hospitality:- Viktoryia Sharayeva (Front Office Manager); Nikita Tumilovich (Assistant Front Office Manager); Ksenia Scherba and Karina Reshetnikova (Front Office Supervisors); Daria Zakharkevich, Elizaveta Mozova, Alexandra Sizikova, Diana Savelicheva and Aleksandra Grischenko (Front Office Agents); Daria Romanchuk and Olga Lee (Guest Relation Agents); Alisa Bychkova and Alina Vlasiuk (At Your Service Agents); Yan Rudenko (Hotel Driver); Lizaveta Belahalova (Revenue & Reservation Manager); Diana Lepeshko, Ksenia Zdanovich and Anastasia Zaitseva (Reservation Agents); Ekaterina Ostrovskaya (Housekeeping Manager); Pavel Kabanov (F&B Manager); and Olga Chistyakova (Purchasing Specialist). There shall be other associates whom I did not have the chance to meet with during my stay, yet I am sure they were likewise professional and dedicated. Belarus is a hidden gem in Europe having a lot more of places awaiting us to explore. In the near future I look forward to visiting this beautiful country again and, for that purpose, Marriott shall be my only choice of...

I stayed in this Marriott for 6 nights. Upon arrival I immediately noticed the temperature in the room was 26C and I could feel it! Besides that entire hotel had very strong kitchen odor. The smell was like someone is frying pancakes in your room. Later on one receptionist told me with a smile “It’s a Marriott smell”... very professional response. Played with AC panel with no luck. The AC unit was making noise, but produced no cool air. After hours of a struggle I called reception. The guy showed up, played with AC settings, just like I did and asked me to wait for another 30 min and let them know. It was close to midnight... Obviously nothing happened and I called again. The same guy showed up and told me he will call someone to fix this issue “remotely”. By 1:30AM I demanded they do something about this. As a result I was moved to another room which seemed to be cool enough. Next day I was offered an upgrade to 2 queen bed room. For a single traveler this upgrade sounded pretty sarcastic, so I declined. On the very last night suddenly my room which was cool enough for 5 nights turned very hot in exactly the same way my original room was. Same exact scenario- the guy showed up. An attempt to fix it “remotely” and at 1:30AM I was moved to another room. That room had AC turned off with room temperature at 26C so the guy turned it on and promised me in 10 min it will be 22C. As you can imagine it stayed at 26C. I requested they to move me to a room that before I move shows 22C. At 2AM they found such room and moved me there. Around 3AM I was able to fall asleep... Next morning at checkout I asked to 1 night worth of the discount and.... I was told by the hotel manager “Sorry we can’t give you any discounts because the service has been provided”. This was totally not like Marriott experience to me.

This hotel has some serious issues with its apparently outdated ventilation system, that totally ruined 2 of my 6 nights staying there. My clothes now smells like pancakes too.

Regarding the good quality : I'm on a strict diet and mostly eating some produce and vegetables. Produce was really not fresh. Another issue I had with the quality of avocados - those were not eatable at all, tasteless, very hard and not really ready...

Very nice hotel. Feels a class higher than a classic Marriott, rather a Renaissance or JW. Ladies at the reception were welcoming and eager to help in the afternoon of August 18th. My mother was checking in within my reservation and I forgot to place her name there. While I followed their directions through the Bonvoy assistance on call, they took care of my mom and settled her into the room. Appreciate them taking extra steps to accommodate and minimize the inconveniences that I caused by not knowing the rules. I’m only silver status so far this year, yet they didn’t forget to mention that, was kind of surprised :). rooms are big and nicely furnished with modern feel and great views. Also tried the restaurant and was just as impressive. If you are traveling and are a Marriott fan, don’t hesitate to stay here. I read through a few reviews were people claim this hotel is not on the Marriott level, lol and I concur, it’s better, expect JW level instead. People saying otherwise are not knowledgeable of the brand. Ashamed or nothing, offended by everything kind of reviews that I would not take seriously.
