Hotel Les Dunes — Hotel in De Haan

In September 2017 my family and I have spent two nights in the Heritage Hotel which I believe shares the same owners as the Hotel Les dunes. We did very much enjoy our stay at the Heritage Hotel and we naturally thought that we would have a similar experience at Hotel Les Dunes. Unfortunately that was not the case. ||In all fairness the room we have booked was of decent size and was also very tidy and quiet. The bed was not particularly comfortable though. The WI-FI signal on the second floor of the hotel was abnormally weak hence we only had intermittent access to the internet. ||The complimentary buffet breakfast was served in a room flooded with sunlight and comprised of a great variety of bread and viennoiserie. ||The hotel is also ideally located in the beautiful coastal village of De Haan where the streets are lined with many Belle époque buildings. The beach is also very near. ||When it comes to the front desk staff ability to make guest feel welcome I can only agree with what many other reviewers have already touched upon. Service is terrible! I found the hotel staff utterly incompetent and extremely unpleasant! I have no intention of going back...

Déjà l'hôtel est tout nouveau et cela sent le neuf! Le garçon qui m'accueille est très très sympa, il bouge dans tout les sens pour vous satisfaire, en plus il est très beau. Il me montre où me garer...gratuitement! Félicitation Bernt! |Il fait très chaud a l'extérieur et très chaud a l'intérieur...faudra trouver une solution, rideaux, ventilation, airco....|La chambre ( avec vue sur la rue, mais vendue de luxe) sent comme tout l'hôtel, la déco est assez simple et le lit est très confortable . Un téléviseur grand écran plat me surprend agréablement ! La salle de bain est très petite et les panneaux de douche sont un peu légers.|Il y a un frigo....vide !!!!!!!! ??????|La charmante dame qui m'accueille au restaurant m'explique la petite carte des plats en Français. |Je choisis croquettes de crevettes et baby homard en Bellevue! |Pas de 1/2 bouteille de vin ni de pichet donc je bois au verre. |Une petite dégustation bien sympa de harengs a l'Aneth à l'apéro! |Les croquettes, bien chaudes, servies avec une petite salade manquent cruellement de goût..dommage mais je suis satisfait quand même ! |Le homard...plutôt un Ado Homard qu'un baby homard ! Super! |La cuisson " EXTRA" ....super bon ! |( petit détail, le pain servi est très bon aussi ) |Le chef vient me voir et me demande si cela me convient.|Bernt revient me saluer, tout le monde est très professionnel. |Demain je teste le petit déjeuner....et là je suis TRÈS difficile ! |La nuit fut difficile malgré la bonne literie....c'est la canicule et il fait près de 30° dans la chambre ( 203)....|Le petit déjeuner est servi à partir de 08h30 ( bcp trop tard, surtout pour un lève tôt comme moi) et jusque 10h30.|Le positif : une machine expresso, et café normal donc café extra,bon choix de bons pains et excellentes viennoiseries.|Le négatif : pas de musique de fond seulement le bruit des chaises qui traînent sur le carrelage imitation bois ( prévoir des petits Téflons sous les pieds) c'est HYPER DÉSAGRÉABLE! Rien que pour cela je pourrais changer d'hôtel...|On ne mange pas a l'extérieur pourtant il y a une terrasse prévue....|Pas de chaud seulement des œufs cuits durs tièdes....|Donc bof bof..... |Je précise que je ne fais que comparer à d'autres établissements dans la région...|||Maintenant est-ce que cela vaut 135€ la nuit tout compris....je ne pense pas surtout en comparant avec Knokke qui est pourtant 30% plus cher et que l'hôtel n'est pas encore complètement dans son plein rendement, je pense que 115€ pour ma chambre comme prix attractif aurait été plus...

This was an odd place. I drove past it looking for a hotel. It looks more like a block of flats. We pre booked parking as there were three bikes and a car but the car could have found a space on the road for free but not in high season as it’s very close to the beach which is stunning. The hotel is not manned all the time and there is no bar or restaurant. Everything is available in vending machines. The rooms were spotless it just lacked character.
