4th visit (non-cruise) to Bermuda and 1st time at Watercolours. While we’ve been pleased with small inns in the past (Bermuda’s bar for lodging seems to be set high across the board) this extraordinary centrally located guesthouse on the water knocked it out of the park! Felt like we were at an overwater bungalow hearing the gentle lapping of the water a few yards from the sliding glass door of our spacious beautifully furnished room and seeing the steps that lead down into the water for adventurous swimmers/snorkelers. It was truly like staying with friends as Carole and Joe are so very warm, accommodating and good-natured. We also enjoyed meeting our fellow guests, all of whom loved it there. The home and gardens were beautiful (and immaculate) inside and out. Our housekeeper did a fine job each day as well. Breakfast each morning was lovely with beautiful table settings (a separate table for each room), fine china, great coffee, juice, cereals/granola mixes, home-baked treats, yogurt and fruit. We hope we’re fortunate enough to be able to return next year or sooner! Was able to bring home a memento - hand painted and signed tea mugs. Oh, and afternoon tea was also offered but we were too busy each day traversing the...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Watercolours this past August to celebrate our honeymoon! Carole and Joe were perfect hosts who checked on us daily and provided an incredible experience for us while visiting Bermuda for the first time. First of all, their home is situated directly on the water and the chairs outside our room gave us incredible views during our stay. Each morning, there was a delicious breakfast waiting for us. We went swimming in the harbor every morning and jumped in the pool quite frequently as well. We didn't plan on spending so much time at Watercolours, but the privacy was wonderful and the views even better. There is a ferry stop about 100 feet up the road from their home. We took this ferry many times to go into Hamilton. Carole also provided us with directions to get all over the island. If we wanted, there was a friendly taxi driver that would pick us up from Watercolours as well. Carole Holding is also a renowned artist on the island. One of our taxi drivers in Hamilton told us she was his favorite artist from Bermuda. Her artwork is truly breathtaking! We would love to come back to Bermuda very soon and when we do we are definitely staying with Carole and Joe at...
Read moreB&B Perfection! Staying in Carole and Joe’s place is a one of a kind experience. You can not be closer to the Hamilton harbor and the Belmont ferry stop. Besides the convenient location and spectacular views, the attention to detail is beyond anything I have ever seen in a B&B. Super clean and comfortable beds. A top-tier continental breakfast daily, served on silver platters and crystalware to boot.
The rooms are stunningly beautiful and comfortable, all of which open up to the incredible harbor view. The pool in the backyard is the cherry on top of this stunning property.
Id recommend Watercolours for solo travelers, couples, and adult families. Know that Bermuda is not very walkable. Carole and Joe arranged for my initial taxi pick up, which was Also super convenient. Mike was the best driver ever. I ended up using him for all my transportation needs, and he showed me all the different routes around the island. Carole and Joe took the guesswork out of things. I am so grateful for my...
