We got to Yunami after a spectacular but tiring walk from the north of the island. When we got into the town we started asking locals for the directions to the Puma Punku Ecolodge. Most had no idea about the place, but after asking several people one lady finally gave us the right direction. At the far end of the island, we made it. No sign outside the door or anything..||A lady told us that we were in the right place.||I had reserved a "deluxe" room wih balcony with Booking only to find out that such room does not exist. The woman told us that they were all at the same price.||It states in Booking that there's wifi, tv (although we did not care about this), balcony etc.||None of this was true (Plugs in the room were not working either, lots of flies inside the room). When we asked the owner about it, her reply was that there was no wifi on the whole island. We explained that we booked the place specifically because it had wifi as we needed internet to arrange our transfer/accommodation in La Paz. We showed her the description of her place on the booking confirmation and she started laughing and told us that the next boat for Copacabana was at 11.30am the next day. She also said that we could go earlier with their private boat at a cost of 300 Bolivianos.||Her attitude was ridiculous. Just a sorry would have been fine, but nothing, she just laughed.||We decided to leave as nothing matched the description of what we thought we booked and went back to the village (20min walk).||We found an accommodation where we were greeted with a warm welcome, even better views and a delicious breakfast for half the price! We also found wifi on several restaurants next to our new hostal. So yes! There is internet in the island!||She also lied to us when saying that the next boat to Copacabana was at 11.30am... it was in fact at 10.30am!!! (Thankfully our new hostess gave us the right time)||Also worth mentioning that you have no choice but to eat dinner there as it's a long way at night to go anywhere else.||And if you do decide to go, make sure to ask for...

-16.05162°, -69.14194° Puma Punku Ecolodge is located on the southern tip of the Isla del Sol on Lake Titicaca. To reach the lodge, you have to take a considerable walk with stairs from the Templo del Sol in Yumani, which can be tricky for people with mobility problems or carrying suitcases. To Puerto Sur, the main town on the island, is 30-minute walk uphill and downhill. The lodge offers breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca, highlighting the serene and picturesque surroundings. The lodge is run by the very attentive and helpful Mendoza family, who live next door.
In April 2025, our room 105 has two double beds and a single bed. The bed slept comfortably. In the bathroom, the toilet did not flush and the shower was cold. The lodge has electricity from solar power in the evening. Wi-Fi reception via direct beam from main land was good. Cleaning and maintenance are a really big neglected issue for the Mendoza family. The family needs to improve the quality of the rooms before they fall into complete disrepair.
For dinner and breakfast, you belong to a captive crowd. You have nowhere else to go. The family served a good dinner with fish, chicken and meat and breakfast the next morning was good too.
