Spanish Chronicler Pedro Cieza De Leon from 1553: ā€œthe Inca [Pachacuti] is said to have visited most of the settlements bordering on the great lake of Titicaca, and with his great skill he won them over to his service, attiring himself in each village in the garb used by the natives, which was the thing that pleased them most. He went out on the great lake of Titicaca, observed its islands, and ordered built on the largest of them a temple to the sun and palaces for himself and his...

It was a fine preserved ruin, but it lacks some explanations, signs, etc. Also the top part is closed with barbwire and would most likely be the best place for pictures. If you have time on your trip to the island it’s worth your way, but don’t miss out on the walk to the north part to do this. There is a walking path on top of the mountain with awesome views, as well as an easier one that hugs the cliff and passed by the...

The temple can be reached on an easy hike. What's more, there is no entrance fee, which really surprised me. It's the perfect place to take a short break, enjoy the view of the lake and explore the rooms of the temple. The only thing I found a pity was that there was no information about the temple. I couldn't find anything on the internet either. If anyone knows more, I would be happy to be enlightened.

The best part of these ruins are the great views, and the opportunity to take interesting photos of the lake with the ruins as backdrop. unfortunately, not much is preserved, so it strains your imagination what this temple once looked like.
