Lobo Hostel Rurrenabaque — Hotel in Rurrenabaque

EDITED: We stayed 3 nights there and didn't enjoy it at all, doesn't have a backpacker vibe at all in our opinion and here's why. We did tours, walks, etc, to every day come back a bit tired after some food willing to rest or chill for a while but there was kids every day playing ball against the wall of our room making it impossible to relax or even have a quiet moment, if you wanted to relax at the pool, they would charge 20bs for outsiders to go in which would be kids that would splash you water constantly, there was some girls playing with something in their mouth then spitting it into the pool to go and pick it up repeatedly so it was very gross, ultimately if you just wanted to chill on the pool chairs the local boys would come to the pool apparently only to check on the tourist girls in bikinis (after all day from locals staring at my girlfriend's boobs and ass as she was an alien or something you can understand she would be annoyed and wanted to have some time of relaxing and not to be stared at). EDIT, after being called like hostile people: Owner replied we "threatened them" by leaving a bad review which is honest and justified, that we extended because we had a "wonderful time" and that we checked out 5pm and then 7:30pm (so we checked out 2 times in one day? This doesnt make sense at all) So I will clarify since we're left as offensive people or liars whatsoever. We extended an extra night because we were sick after going to a restaurant recommended by the hostel staff, not because we had a great time, after a second thought we asked politely around 3:30pm since there was no one before if we could only leave and get any amout of refund, which they said no, fair enough, also my girlfriend asked again and hostel staff said "I asked already, I wont ask again", so we decided to leave at 7:00pm, not earier nor later. It was our bad to extend and we decided to lose our money, but we NEVER threatened anyone, just to be clear, we understood and decided to leave anyway, thats what really happened. Regarding the kids, we do understand but we are paying for staying there, we've travelled for years so far and never saw this, if they are spitting things into the pool and splashing your paid guests, then its the hostel who should be careful on their behaviour or who you let in, is your guests you should take care of, not outsiders or locals, that's how business works, so if you expect guests to be happy and leave good reviews you should be more careful and also not treat them like "threateners" or liars...

The hostel is nice, with a river view and great pool and 5 min from main street. We booked through booking.com a room with a balcony and when we arrived they gave us a cheaper room. After explaining the situation they gave us the correct room however wanted more money for it then advertised on booking. It was a spacious and nice room, hot shower and with a great view. When we went to the jungle tour we asked to book another night upon our return. When we arrived there was no booking made for us. Luckily there was a room available, it was a private room on the ground floor. However the bathroom was mouldy and leaking and the bed was the worst we slept in over our whole trip. Overall the hostel was okay but unfriendly staff and issues with booking and disagreement on the price...

I stayed in a 5 bed dorm - there were ants all over the bathroom sink and clusters of bugs all over the floor near the open window that had a mesh covering. The dorm bathroom is a walled cubicle that is open at top so sound and light travels from the bathroom into the dorm room. The tri-fold bathroom door also wouldn’t stay closed and didn’t lock. The pool is nice but there are only 5 or so sun beds and really not even enough seating in common area for everyone that was at the hostel during that time. The rooftop where you have breakfast is nice and the bed was comfortable enough for 1 night, and had a fly net. The room was very noisy right on the river with all the loud boats. I wouldn’t stay again...
