Pousada Califórnia — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Aracati

We selected this pousada because of the many excellent evaluations on TripAdvisor and LonelyPlanet (2010 edition) recommendation and spent three nights in room 32.||The reception was kind and the Dutch manager polite and hospitable. ||The infrastructure of the building and room has become slightly outdated and needs renovation and refurbishment to keep up the pace in my view. ||Next to that, our room proved to be quite noisy (buggy drivers with 200 decibel boosters passing by, crowing cocks staring at 04:00, screaming cats in heat).||The self-service breakfast was fair, nothing extraordinary compared to other pousadas I spent the night at during these travels. ||Generally, despite being called "pousada", this place is size-wise rather a hotel and as consequence lacks the personal touch of a pousada.||If there were a next time I would visit Canoa Quebrada, I would look for alternative...

Just arrived late at night and already love this place. Our room here and bathroom and shower are the biggest we've had at pousadas and hotels on our 30 day road trip. The ambience and feel of the place is relaxed and inviting. The parking garage across the street was large and secure. The main street is just a block over, so you get easy access with peace and quiet. The frigobar has a lot of items at normal prices. Our room had a nice shelf for bags and luggage and a huge desk/counter for organizing our things. There are electrical outlets all over for charging your devices (if you have the standard Brazilian type N adapters). The staff that we met were extremely hospitable. In January My husband and I stay a week in Pousada California. It was a perfect stay. The personal in the reception were so smiling, polite and helpful. And we met Steven, the owner, in the breakfast area, every day. He was helpful and kindly and it was easy to talk to him. He is a gentle man.|The breakfast was very good. The Pousada has a good atmosphere and we enjoyed every minute.|We had a superior room with view to the ocean.
