Pousada Gente Bonita Mirante — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Cabo Frio

I'm not impressed. Far from! The hotel is overpriced, and really just average overall. In tourist traps like Buzios, hoteliers rarely worry about providing service and go the extra step for guests which could justify a high(er) price. For the discerning European traveler, who is expecting price and quality that are interconnected, this is truly another disappointment. This hotel with breakfast included, delivers everything at the same time at the (small) table, - no buffet! It is not okay. One piece of soap - no other amenities! Careless imported labourforce who don't pay attention.||When you arrive you are told about limited opening hours at the pool 11-20, and you are asked to reduce your water consumption. It´s generally a good idea to preserve and reduce consumptions of natural ressources, but when I need a shower, and that I do several times a day in this climate, I don´t want restrictions imposed on me. A spotlessy clean pousada with a great view from the pool terrace and balcony (we stayed in a room on the top floor so would recommend doing the same if possible). The air con worked a treat and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was awesome with a great selection. It was only 5 mins walk to the beach where there was a good selection for food and great people watching. The walk into town was 15 mins and the perfect way to walk off your dinner. It is steep so the arthritc may wish to stay elsewhere. Our only comment would be the staff could have been more helpful with suggestions, but admittedly there was a language barrier (but their english was better than our Portuguese!) Also even though they advertise a lunch menu, we felt that we were an inconvenience to them when ordering food. Overall we would definitely return as the room and pool and view and proximity to the beach...

What a lovely poussada. In fact, there is a special feeling as soon as you enter the front door! Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Beautifully decorated public area; huge bedroom with sea or garden views; fabulously comfortable bed; lovely bathroom; excellent breakfast; and magnificent view from the rooms and pool terrace. No shampoo provided, but when we requested some it was delivered within seconds.Yes, there's a 10 minute walk down a steep hill to the beach and the town, but the plus side of that is the peace, quiet and magnificent view when you return.
