Pousada Pilar | Arraial do Cabo - Rj — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Cabo Frio

I went to this Pousada due to the wonderful reviews found on TripAdvisor and here is a summary of the stay:||||The Good: ||||- Nice location, close to Praia dos Anjos and the Praca with a handful of restaurants.||- Parking included, a small pool, breakfast, Wifi for R$10 and hot water.||||The Bad:||||- Mosquitos everywhere, in the room, at breakfast (almost seemed that the mosquitos we having us for breakfast), towels were a scarcity, we were a group of 4 and had to share on several occasions, the Pousada is far from the nice beaches (Prainha and Praia Grande - both about a 30 minute walk)||||The Ugly:||||#1 When we arrived we were treated very rudely by the owner, older gentleman in his 70's and his son (Wagner). The accused us of being "wrong" with our reservation however when I booked the reservation with Fernanda (no longer with the Pousada - no surprise) was advised that we may have 3 or 4 people. The owner treated us like we were thieves and asked us to PAY IMMEDIATELY without even welcoming us to the property. When one of my relatives mentioned to the owners son, Wagner, that she felt mistreated at the entrance, Wagner shouted and argued with my wife and my sister in law, telling them it was their fault that his father treated them badly.||||#2 We decided to grab dinner on our first night and asked the owner where we could eat and also asked him if we could have four beers in our room since we drank the 2 cold beers in our refrigerator. When we returned to our room there were no beers and we asked the owner and his son what happened. I was given an excuse that someone had drank all the beers that were to be added to my room, when I commented "There are always excuses." I was threatened by Wagner and he wanted to fight me because of my comment. Then my sister in law confronted him and he said "People who come from other countries can't comment on any services received in his Pousada, especially no comments regarding why they can't make commitments."||||I was floored by his anger and insulting aggression, however what surprised me the most was his complete disregard for customer service.||||I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Stay FAR...

Nao gostei. Fomos mal atendidos...o valor pago pelas diárias e muito além do que realmente deveria ser cobrado...o café da manhã é muito simples, não tinha nada muito além das outras pousadas que fomos, já que o preço da estadia era bem alto. Meu marido teve que subir três andares de escada com as malas nas costas pq o elevador só podia ser ligado para cadeirante.O quarto tinha copo sujo dentro do frigobar, atrás do móvel tinha muita poeira. A pousada apesar de ter uma decoração rústica e bem interessante, precisa ser mais iluminada, e ter mais manutenção do local como um todo, inclusive a quantidade de plantas no seu entorno. Meu marido e eu nos machucamos duas vezes na planta que fica na entrada da pousada, uma planta cheia de espinhos na folha, não era para estar ali. A gente tinha que bater um sino toda vez que chegasse da rua, pois não tínhamos a chave do local para entrar, e toda vez que um senhor vinha abrir, nos sentimos que estávamos incomodando. Os hóspedes precisam ter acesso livre, imagine vc sair e voltar anoite umas 4 da manhã e ter que acordar um senhor de idade. Fora isso ainda tinha uns cachorros que latiam muito toda vez que estávamos de saída ou tínhamos que entrar com nosso cachorro, achei aquilo muito incômodo, tanto para quem tem cachorro, como para quem não tem, pois os cachorros ficavam na frente da pousada e quando viam a gente só faltavam quebrar o vidro da pousada, além disso escapavam pela porta e quase mordeu nosso cachorro. Acredito que falar mais simpatia com todos os hóspedes, percebi que tinham outras pessoa, mas o tratamento com eles eram melhores, não sei por que já que estávamos na mesma pousada usufruindo das mesmas coisas. Se um dia voltarmos para arraial iremos procurar...

Excellent place to stay. Very chick atmosphere, with sophisticated decoration and good location near the beach and the town center. Delicious breakfast with many choices of fresh fruits, juices and bread, in addition to local dishes. Excellent facilities, nice outdoor pool and relaxing area, and very spacious rooms. Attention is fantastic. The owners are always present and are really helpful. They arranged diving trips for us and gave usefull advice about the best...
