Nice property on the beach with modern rooms (I would not book a room or suite without an ocean view at this property, even one with a high rate).||||The Front Desk has only 3 associates (split between the shifts) that speak a good English, but those 3 are good and must have been hired at a premium salary. Most of the others, if not all of them, speak any English at all.||||The cleaning staff is also doing a good job.||||The bathroom products are from L'Occitane, which is a good brand.||||The breakfast is barely OK at this hotel. A seasoned traveler will notice that only small plates that are offered on the buffet (a sign!). Nothing unique or creative, do not expect the breakfast buffets of Thailand. Besides one older lady, the waitresses keep going from one wall, to a door or to a pole where they will rest their back, instead of going around to ask guest if they want a refill of coffee or juices. Their other dilemma is whether crossing their arms in the front or in the back. ||When a guest comes in the restaurant, if their back is resting against a part of the restaurant, they will not move. No English at all is spoken at the breakfast restaurant.||||A (or the) manager (an older gentleman) was given priority to the guests, when the waitress was bringing the dishes on her tray (I thought that this was pretty telling).||||The napkins were made out a rough polyester fabric. There is no bread toaster on the buffet - you just have to think about asking the staff to grill your bread in the kitchen,||||The bar on the beach often plays music with a lot of bass. which resounds even in the highest located suites (very irritating), even in the morning. From the rooms, you don't hear the music, just the boom booms from the bass.||The day of my arrival, I went to the area where they have the long chairs in front of the beach. They were a dozen of waiters/ beach attendants that were having aloud fun like it was a frat party. Nobody bothered to help me with a chair and its preparation with towel, so I say on one without a towel after waiting for a minute or so for some kind of service. I was pretty much ignored but after a while I asked them to keep the sound down, so I could relax in front of the sea. Most stopped, but a few continued.||||In the room, there no pen or pad to write notes on. There is an espresso machine, but they charge for the capsules, even though they are from a Brazilian brand. They do not subscribe to most TV channels, including News in English, like CNN or the BBC, so when you browse the channels, you mostly get the 'Subscribe for this channel' page (an annoying process). When you pay over $400 (over 2,000 R$) per night, those stinginess are not appreciated and not having news channels in English, even for the guests whose mother tongue is not English, shows contempt to their international guests.||||I spoke to the director of Operations, who took the time to listen to me. He told me that they would have a new contract from the TV provider or change their provider in October. He said that the bass issue of the music at the beach restaurant was an easy one, but nothing was changed.||He also said that he would take care of a billing issue at the SPA, but did not. Beware: there is no printed prices for the SPA services and when you sign (apply the chip of your bracelet to the processing machine, you are not shown what you sign for).||||The management is definitely not up to the standard of the ones of hotel chains like Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt or Accor and it seems that the owner is overly greedy. Too many associates are obviously poorly trained.||||The clientele was exclusively white Brazilian (which might not surprise those who are more familiar with Brazil than I am, but it feels somewhat strange) and essentially fill up the hotel during the weekend. I would think that the hotel would make an effort to attract foreigners to fill up their rooms during the week, but I guess that this is their decision and they might prefer to have only Brazilians guests who do not seem to be too demanding, even with...
Read moreWe stayed for 5 nights following an active holiday in Argentina. It was just the relaxing and beautiful spot we were looking for. Gorgeous setting on the beach, authentic decor and our Deluxe Sea View suite was extremely spacious and very comfortable. The staff were all lovely, helpful and attentive - although limited English speaking team. The spa was well priced and they offered good treatments. In terms of the food, the breakfast was average, the lunch menu was vast and they had delicious fish and traditional Brazilian dishes. The evening restaurant was lovely, but lighting too bright but the food was good. They lack a separate bar and no evening entertainment; the pool DJ (who played once) was not good - music too bass heavy and loud - they should play a better relaxed beach vibe sound track. Overall we had a lovely stay and would...
