When booked, I didnt realise this place was a bit far from the city centre (10 minutes by bus, but buses are not passing by very often from this neighborhood!) So straight away I was disappointed! However very soon, when I saw the not at all attractive city centre, I fell in love with this place! And eventually it proved to be only a short ride by local bus from the Argentinian border to go to visit the Waterfalls. Also very close to the Brazilian waterfalls and the birds park. and obviously the airport on the Brazilian side!||||The host, Ika, was the best and sweetest person ever! She helped us with everything so much! She is a lovely person and made us feel like at home, taking care of everything! Thanks to Ika, and her recommendations, we used our limited time so effectively, we had the chance to see both sides of the Falls and we didn't spend much money! ||||The guest house is lovely, clean, quiet, you can hear the birds singing in the morning, total relaxation. The breakfast is nice! There is a total value for money! I 100% recommend! ONLY problem is that in the neighborhood there are not many places to eat and the transport! But if you are there for a few days only, I think it is ok and manageable! Also I think on request you can be offered a dinner in...
Read moreThis is a lovely pousada off the beaten track in Foz. Ika, the hostess, was extremely pleasant and as helpful as she could be. The breakfast was nice and always plentiful. The rooms were simple but clean and well maintained. The walk to the nearest bus stop is an easy one...it is less than 10 blocks away located by the Iguassu Boulevard on Av. das Cataratas. From this bus stop you can catch a ride into the city, to the main bus terminal, or directly to Parque Nacional do Iguaçú to see the Brazilian side of the falls.||||One thing you should be aware of in Foz do Iguacu is the cost of transportation. Public transportation in Foz is pretty easily accessible and quite reasonably priced. Taxis, on the other hand, are VERY expensive. Also, do not try to hail a taxi from the side of the road or even from a labeled taxi stand. They will NOT pull over (it's not the way they do it there) and you will be lucky if a taxi pulls up to a "taxi stand". We were very lucky to be rescued by a shuttle driver who saw the poor tourists sadly looking around with confusion and...
Read moreVery comfortable and nicely decorated, splendid breakfast. The owners are very knowledgeable and speak Portuguese, English and Castillian. It's a bit far from any transportation, so you have to be ready to walk 15-20 minutes to get the bus, but when you get to the busstop, you can get anywhere. Direct buses lead you to both the Brasilian and Argentinian side of the falls, to the airport, and to the local busstation, in the center, from where you can get a bus to Paraguay or to the Itaipu dam. If necessary, they can also arrange for a transportation to the busstop. It is one of the best value for money we have...
