We stayed here for 2 nights before we headed to the Amazon.||The good....||It was in a good location handy to a mall, clean and tidy, comfortable bed, breakfast was good.||The bad....||We arrived at 4am after 4 flights from NZ, to find we needed an urber to get there as our transfer wasn’t there (not hotels fault) but when we arrived it was dark, the driver said out, your hotel, there was absolutely NO light coming from the hotel. We thought we were outside a deserted warehouse. We were a bit worried as there was just nothing to say hotel except a small sign. Anyhow I walked up to the door and it opened to a hotel foyer, phew, we weren’t going to be robbed! ||So my suggestion would be to have some kind of lightening outside.||There was no safe inside room.||The sheets didn’t fit the bed, they made the bed up with the sheets around the wrong way to make them fit. Also, no blankets.||No information book in room about hotel.||The ugly....||We had a meet the group dinner at hotel, 19 people, after 21/2hours we got our food, if you got anything at all. The steak was like the bottom of your shoe. People in the group were really annoyed and said it was the worse meal they have ever had!||One good thing about it, it was a good way to get to know the other people...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay but it's got some room for improvement.
Pros - the rooms are nice, they have TV and good bathrooms and importantly the air conditioning is very good. The breakfast is also pretty good with many options including tapioca and omelette to order. There is a shop and pharmacy within very close walking distance, as well as several very good restaurants. The pool is acceptable, although we wished it was bigger and had more tables and chairs really. The gym is tiny although we didn't use it.
Downsides: we had some noise issues on a Saturday night from a nightclub and traffic noise. The food options outside of breakfast are not that great, and a bit low quality. The worst thing was that one of our party got a cockroach in their room. It was only one, and they apologised and gave us all upgrades for our return trip after our days away in the Amazon rainforest, but it's worth mentioning. Generally it's very clean so I'm not...
Read moreThe hotel offers decent rooms, but not anything special. Sort of the bare minimum for a 3-star hotel. However, NO ONE at the front desk or the bar or the restaurant spoke English. ||||That's usually not a problem but when we checked out the next morning they had a restaurant charge that was not ours, and we had a miserable time trying to close out our bill.||||Ate at the restaurant but paid cash, so the charge was not ours. They also had a wrong name on the room. Don't know how it all got screwed up so bad but it was almost impossible for us to work it out without speaking Portuguese.||||Our other complaint was that we listened to a dog bark ALL night long. There were homes next door to the hotel, and even though we were on the 4th floor the dog was impossible...
