Avoid booking this hotel. The standard is poor, with outdated, worn-out furnishings and rust in the shower. I stayed in room 1056, which is on the top floor and faces the bar – many guests have pointed out that this is a significant problem.
One morning, I woke up to find my entire room filled with smoke due to grilling at the bar. I went to the reception and was given a different room, but no compensation was offered for the ruined night.
This hotel hardly deserves its three-star rating and should not be allowed to operate under the Ibis name. If you are someone who drinks every day and comes back drunk, this hotel might suit you. Otherwise, it is impossible to get a good night’s sleep with all the noise around.
A hotel is meant for sleeping and receiving good service. Here, you get neither.
Worn and rusty interior: Many guests have noted that the rooms and bathrooms are worn out, with rust in the shower and furniture that has seen better days.
Noisy location: Rooms facing the bar are extremely noisy, especially at night, making it difficult to sleep. The noise from the bar and surrounding area is unbearable.
Poor service: Several reviews mention that the staff is poorly trained and the service level is low. Issues are not resolved efficiently, and compensation is rarely offered.
Inadequate cleaning: There have been reports of insufficient room cleaning, with dirty sheets and towels not being replaced regularly.
Smoke issues: Besides the problem with smoke from the bar, guests have complained about the smell of smoke in the rooms from other guests smoking on balconies or nearby.
In summary, Ibis Praia de Canto has several recurring issues that prevent it from meeting the expectations for a hotel in this category. I expect compensation from Ibis in the near future for the...

Read moreIn over 35 years of travel to Brazil. I have enjoyed staying in dozens of lodgings from no star to 5 star ... but this is the hotel was the first that did not offer a complimentary morning breakfast - not even a cup of coffee in a country where cafezinho is a staple and intrinsic to Brazil's sense of hospitality. ||||Another first: pay for your stay in full as you check in. Is this a new trend or a ... way of saying we are so understaffed that at least this way you wont even have to try to bother us on your way out? Certainly it was not "welcome to our hotel".||||Vitória is not a major holiday destination... but the hotel was terribly and constantly understaffed. The lone front desk clerk had a line all the time every time we went through the lobby save late at night. Furthermore, why should a hotel boast a policy of fixing anything that is not right within 15 minutes if they cannot even staff their front desk so you can be acknowledged in 20? Neither the phone nor the safe were working in our room, so once we finally got their attention, we were told that nothing could be done until the next day. Oh well... there went another hour of our time in Vitoria.||||In defense of hotel staff, I will state that each individual was kind and attentive - there just were not enough to attend to all the hotel guests. I had studiously avoided Ibis hotels in Brazil because I was told by a travel agent that they were foreign owned and sought to cut costs, but a travel companion made our reservations for this visit... and my suspicions were confirmed. This is a cheap hotel (chain) that tries to present a contemporary image... but cuts back on everything possible, even the...
