Pousada Ecoporto - Porto de Galinhas — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

This review is written in English to assure that I am clear with North American visitors, who may have little recourse after a bad experience (or may be reluctant or unable to complain in Portuguese).||||We have an apartment about two blocks away and visited the first time about a week ago. The food was good, the service decent and we were anxious to go back, which we did this evening. Yes, it is Christmas evening, but this is not a big deal in Brazil. In a restaurant, open to the public, with seating for about 75 - 80, there was only one other couple, when our party of 5 entered. There appeared to be only one server on duty. We had to get up and find the server to:||||- order beverages||- order an appatizer||- check on the status of the drinks after 25 minutes||- return one of the drinks because it was not just warm, but hot||- check on the status of the appetizer after 20 minutes||- seek assistance with one order that was short 2 side orders listed on the menu when|| the food finally came, about 40 minutes after ordering.||- ask for the bill||||The food was OK, but I suspect most Brazilians would have left - our kids were tired and hungry, and we opted to tough it out. I've lived in, worked in and visited Brazil for almost 20 years and have been to innumerable restaurants. This was absolutely the worst service experience I've had. We declined paying the pre-billed service charge on the bill.||||I am sure, from the reviews and the crowds I see at the pousada, that it is a great place, but tonight had the rest of my family reminding me to get on Trip Advisor as soon we hit the door. I've written other reviews (2 or 3 maybe) and I have tried to be fair, as I have tried to be this evening - I have no axe to grind.||||I would urge potential customers to take a look around for other options in the neighborhood before risking your time, money and patience at the...

This hotel was probably one of the best hotels we stayed in during our 6 week holiday through South America. Our room was everything you could want from a beach resort...awesome ocean views, the sound of the waves, balcony to sit and have a drink...and all the facilities expected in a top hotel. The restaurant and food they serve is unbelievable! I can't talk highly enough about this! We ate dinner at the restaurant there every night we were there but one...we ate in the town at one of best restaurants and it was nowhere as good as the hotel's food. And double the price. Breakfast is also amazing with a huge selection. The location of the hotel is a 30min walk to the town and main beach. Some may find this annoying...but we loved it. I did the walk along the beach to the main beach 2/3 times a day. Some say that the ocean is too rough, but its just a normal beach with waves and some whitewater. I swam everyday in the ocean in front of the hotel. If you wanting that flat/calm ocean you can go to the main beach. You can also take an Uber or taxi to the town/main beach...this is a 5min drive. The pool area is also really awesome...with deck chairs, table and chairs, and hammocks scattered around. We never had an issue with somewhere to sit. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. But with us not being able to speak or understand Portuguese, communication was difficult at times. There was no one there that spoke English. But that is no fault of theres. You get by with Google Translate. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone...it...

Nous avons été a la Pousada Ecoporto pendant 1 semaine au mois d’Août 2009.||Porto de Galinhas est magnifique, rien a dire sur cela. Définitivement une des plus belles plages brésiliennes.||||L'hôtel est loin du centre-ville, donc très calme. La piscine de l’Hôtel est petite mais le jardin et la vue sont très beaux.||Nous avons du prendre un taxi toute les fois qu’on a voulu aller en ville. Le taxi est très recommandé si vous sortez le soir… la journée vous pouvez marcher, c’est très agréable et le paysage est époustouflant. ||La baignade en face de l’Hôtel est fortement déconseillé car la mer est très dangereuse avec des gens que se sont noyés plusieurs fois.||||La chambre était bien, nous avons eu une chambre au RDC (sans vue), après nous nous sommes dit qu’on aurait pu demander de changer, mais en fin de compte nous sommes restés dans la même. ||||Le petit-déjeuner était très bon et varié, avec une bonne diversité de petits gâteaux et produits locaux. Le restaurant de l’Hôtel est également très bon, et le prix est très convenable. Les portions sont énormes, donc si vous n’êtes pas en train de mourir de faim, n’hésitez pas a commander un plat pour deux, ça sera très suffisant. ||||Tout a été parfait. Seul bémol ça été quand nous avons décidé de demander a la réception des avis ou indications pour visiter les plages du coin. Alors là, tout de suite la fille nous a mis en main d’un chauffeur de taxi (responsable des visites pour l’Hôtel qui était assis a la réception en train d’attendre des pigeons) que nous a embrouillé et pratiquement forcé a prendre ses services. La réception nous n’a même pas donné le choix. Nous avons découvert après qu’il était 3 fois plus cher que les autres. Nous sommes parti a MARAGOGI avec ce taxi, 3 heures de voyage avec lui que n’arrêtait pas de raconter comment il avait bien réussi dans sa vie et tout le fric qu’il avait, alors là j’ai regretté de parler portugais, car ça m’a vraiment agacé. Il ne s’est même pas dérangé de donner des explications pour les endroits dans lesquels on passait. En arrivant a notre destination, il nous a poussé a faire de la plongé avec une société qui devait lui payer un commission et là nous avons été a nouveau arnaqué. En arrivant de la plongé il a voulu nous pousser a un restaurant super cher, style attrape touriste (par lequel il devait aussi être payé), mais nous avons réussi a nous échapper et sommes parti en recherche d’un coin plus local. Là nous avons trouvé un petit restaurant super sympa, pas cher de tout et très délicieux.||||Donc, si vous allez a Porto de Galinhas et se vous souhaitez visiter les alentours ne demander surtout pas a la réception de cette l’Hôtel. Aller dans l’Office de Tourisme de la ville ou négociez avec les taxi du centre-ville car ils aurons des prix beaucoup plus convenable et vous ne partirez pas en regrettant. ||||Voilà, malgré cela nous avons beaucoup aimé ce voyage dont les photos nous font...
