Pousada Estrela do Mar — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

We spent 1 wonderful week in Fernando de Noronha in August 2014. Our pousasa was Estrela Do Mar. Nice welcome, the place is very well maintained, kept clean. 8 small chalets in a nice garden where fruits and vegetables are growing. ||Rooms are not huge but size is quite correct. Decoration is simple but the essential parts are there. Bathroom is handy with a shower big enough to host 2 people. after reading some other comments on this pousada, my girlfriend got anxious about finding animals (frogs and geckos) in the room/bathroom. But we did not experience this once in a week. Windows are protected with efficient grids. Rooms are cleaned everyday. ||Breakfast is excellent, with fresh juice (fruits from the garden), home-made bread, eggs, omelettes, tapioca...on demand. Our cook was really great. Don't be afraid by communication antennas nearby, we did not noticed them anymore after the first day. ||The Pousada is calm, 200 meters away from main road. Walking distance from Flamboyant square (200/300 meters) and bus stop. Historical center is just 300 more meters away. Beautiful cachoro and conceicão beaches can be reached on foot in less than 30mn. Way to the beach is very easy because it is downhill path. But keep some strength for the way back as you will have to "climb" back to pousada. Many restaurants, shops and bars are within walking distance. Nice location at the top of a hill. Cool and pleasant breeze at night. Cabins are small and comfy with a good shower, decent bed, and good A/C. Good breakfast. WiFi does not work, but the property sits under two cell towers, so cell service is good. There is a constant drone from the equipment supporting the cell towers. 4G is good during the day, but less so in the evening as the island's up-link gets overloaded with selfie uploads. Friendly, helpful staff. 5 minute drive from the airport. Good restaurants and shopping within walking distance. 20 minute walk to the beach (downhill). 30 minute walk back to the hotel. Estrela do Mar is a very calm and enjoyable place to rest during your stay in Fernando de Noronha, it is very close to most of the services available in the island. It's located in a dead end street that keeps it very quiet, far away from the BR-363 but in the other hand this dead end seems to be used to dump some garbage and it is not something that matches with all the beauty that surround us all over the island.||The breakfast is amazing and the fresh bread is something that I miss at all...||If you like geckos and small frogs (pererecas), Fernando de Noronha is the right place for you these little companions are all around and they like to visit the island toilets a lot... so before using the WC check if they...
