This hotel was on the cheaper side compared to other places such as Copacabana or Ipanema as it isn’t on the beach and rather in the middle of the city. The location is great if you are looking to use public transportation as the bus stop is outside of the hotel and you can take a bus to these beaches for $4.40 reis.
As for safety I feel it was great. We would walk around late at night and as long as you aren’t showing valuables or running around with your phone out every few seconds nobody would bother you. The beaches are at least 12 km from here. If you’re here for business keep in mind that the Wi-Fi is not working at all and you need your own Wi-Fi connection. Very noisy guests without any consideration for others. You can take the metro from Cinelândia to the beaches , but the problem is you have to walk around 40-50 minutes through the slums. Highly dangerous at night. There’s actually nothing positive about this hotel except for the price but as we say you’ll get what...
