My wife and I spent four overpriced nights at the Vilarejo Chalé. The rooms consist of a ground-level kitchenette, living room and bathroom, plus a bed located in a mezzanine overlooking the space below. To get to the bed, you must climb the steepest semi-spiral staircase I have ever seen. ||||The positives: The staff is nice. The place is a decent hike from the beach on a quiet street. The rooms have two ceiling fans and an air conditioning unit (which is probably too small to cover the cubic meters below it). You can relax in the hammock outside. Decent wi-fi.||||The negatives: Lots of mosquitos at night. Very rustic furniture and kitchen gear. The kind of staircase that ambulance-chasing lawyers in the United States would drool over. Other places offer more privacy, so our room for 6 was only a single big room, which made maximum number of guests on minimum area. Cleanliness was acceptable, no area around, which our kids were missing most. In total OK, but not our first choice. Next time we will try to get our favourite pousada again.
