I was initially worried about staying at a 3 star hotel in Brazil. The Ibis interlagos far exceeded my expectations. All the staff were friendly and went above and beyond for us. Unfortunately we had unexpected events happen my father in law was rushed to hospital for emergency aneurysm, and then they detected cancer as well. my husband had to complete forms and scan and send them and the hotel was kind enough to scan and email them back to us once we completed the information. This is not a business hotel but we greatly appreciated it. They had great continental breakfast. Each morning we would have breakfast take a cab downtown to the hospital and come back in the late evening. A few nights we just wanted to relax and have a drink and a snack and they had a selection of wine and beers and pao de queijo. The also have night security which made us feel safe. You cannot enter elevator without a swipe card and this I thought was an excellent feature. The bed was was extremely comfortable and they had fridge in the room and also air conditioning. I am not fluent in Portuguese but I was able to get by communicating to the exceptional staff from cleansing to front desk to kitchen. The service here was excellent and everyone is friendly. There is also a a large mall across the street, a bank, public transit bus stop and they hotel can arrange a cab. It’s about 50R to Downtown in São Paulo traffic. This was about $14USD or $18 CDN so it was not that expensive. The first couple of days we flagged cabs but then they hotel found out we were going back and forth to the hospital so a nice gentleman at the front desk arranged cabs for us and I felt very safe. They hotel does have drinks, food, snacks so you don’t have to go out. We will definitely be staying again at this hotel and highly recommend it to both visitors to Brazil or Brazilians. They only negative thing I can think Of was the size of the room however we were traveling with too many suitcases 4 large suitcases 3 carry on but they have banquets and we we were able to put a few suitcases under the banquets, a few in the cubby holes. We were able to store them away as best we could but if you were there for several weeks you may find the rooms small but really you are just there to sleep and get ready so it did not bother us much. They also do not have a safe in the room but we just had our passports and credit cards on us and when we travel we don’t bring valuables. I think the front desk can lock Items for you...
Read moreThis is the third time I have stayed here, and only because it is very hard to find hotels in the Interlagos area of São Paulo. But even if I have to cross the whole city in Uber every day, this is certainly the last time I step foot in this hotel. |First, and although the hotel is almost empty, judging by how few people were at breakfast, they put me in a room for people with defficiencies. I deeply sympathize with such people, but I am not one. The inconvenience of dealing with the bathroom was only moderated by the good supply of hot water. |Second, the hotel is not being maintained. Of the three elevators, only one can stop on my floor becuase the buttons on the others are broken. |Third, although I paid for breakfast, and had the receipts to prove it, they claimed I had not, and I had to pay an aditional R$ 55 for a very poor quality breakfast. The coffee machine was broken, and the filter coffee tasted like it was reheated, and it was as thin as tea. The hot milk was rehydrated powder, and almost transparent. The buns were old and dry as dust. The cold cuts were ok. Nothing special, but edible. |The staff are reasonable, although not as friendly as Brazilians usually are. |Finally, on my previous trip here with my boss, when he walked into his room after checking in, there was someone already occupying the room. Happily, the person was asleep and apparently didn't even notice as my boss closed the door again and went back to the front desk. So every night I stay here, I barricade the door with my bags, becuase such incompetence leaves me with no trust in their capacity to provide protection. |I will not stay here again, that much is clear, and I do not recommend anyone looking for a good experience...
Read moreHotel and rooms are clean, however, the room doesn't have enough space for 2 people, especially if not related. Beds are about 15 cm away from one another which is pretty much sleeping on the same bed. Mattresses are really thin and towels desperately need a rest. Service is ok and I had a little trouble with the reception because they kept calling me to talk to someone who was in my group, but not in my room. Breakfast is good, location not so much. Even though it's walking distance from a mall, you won't find anything interesting close to the hotel. It's good value for the money if you don't need to go to places, because traffic will make you spend a lot in Ubers to get anywhere. Plus, itll take you close to 10 minutes to...
