I booked a Marriott, paid the rate of a Marriott, but the experience felt closer to staying at a Fairfield. The hotel is in extremely poor condition and urgently needs a full renovation. Until then, it does not make sense to continue operating under the Marriott name or charging the current rates. One of the main reasons I selected this property was the service reputation, based on multiple positive reviews about the team’s attentiveness. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. I requested dry cleaning services, and despite calling several times for pick-up, no one came. As I had business meetings scheduled, I ended up having to personally bring the laundry to the front desk. On the following day, I submitted another dry cleaning request, but they misplaced my clothing and could not locate it for several hours. The item was only returned late in the evening, well past the promised delivery time. Another reason I chose this hotel was the availability of a kitchen in the room. However, the room and kitchen conditions were so poor and unhygienic that I did not have the courage to cook or use the kitchen at all. It was also one of the rare occasions where I could not walk barefoot inside the room; I kept my shoes on at all times. The carpet near the bed is extremely old, and it is difficult to trust its cleanliness. The layout included a sofa, as it is a studio-style room, but it was heavily stained and clearly not well-maintained. After changing the bed linens, the housekeeper even placed a visibly dirty pillow from the sofa onto the bed, highlighting the need for better housekeeping training regarding cleanliness standards. The breakfast experience was also disappointing: it was difficult to find clean tables and chairs available, so I had to grab my food to-go several times instead of dining comfortably. One of the reasons I consistently choose Bonvoy hotels is the trust in the overall brand experience. When traveling to Brazil, I usually stay with Hilton, Hyatt, or Bonvoy properties due to my loyalty status. However, even with my status, I regretted not having chosen an independent or local hotel instead this time. After spending a full week at the property, I noticed multiple areas in need of attention, from worn-out furniture to poor general maintenance. Overall, this property is not currently operating at the level expected from a Marriott, and I would not recommend staying here until a major renovation and operational improvements are completed.

Nice hotel but a bad value proposition. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt a week before for $140. This week we decided to stay here, priced at $138, because I need two more Marriott nights to reach Platinum. You can’t even start to compare both properties. While the GH has great service, luxurious rooms and a great view, this Marriott Executive Apartments is small, and the rooms look really poor and dated. Lights were not working at first, some switches (including the one with the TV) were not holding the plugs, there are stains in the walls and overall the finishing is really bad(see pics). This is no more than a 3* place charging 5* prices. And to add to my frustration, nights here don’t count as nights for the Marriott Bonvoy program (technically three nights here count as one, but I’m not staying 3 nights in this place), which is really messed up (and frustrated my objective of reaching Platinum this week). After they mentioned it, it does say in the small print on the booking confirmation, but had they made it more clear i would have stayed elsewhere. There are a number of other similar hotels in town for half the price. Location is indeed nice, but it doesn’t make up for all the negatives.

This review comes from a Marriott Lifetime Elite member so I have some experience staying at Marriott brand hotels. Some of these reviews are perplexing. I've stayed at this Marriott Executive Apartments a few times. On each occasion the rooms are quite nice. Some of the furniture is dated but certainly not old and uncomfortable. To the contrary, my rooms have had furniture that was not old, comfortable beds in each room, fully stocked kitchen with either new or expertly cleaned kitchenware.

The TVs are connected to local cable or the network so you can stream your own service Netflix, prime, globo, etc. Climate controls in each room so the person who loves it cold and person who loves it hot can both live comfortably.

The suites could use a little more décor but that would be my only immediate feedback.

The staff are amazing, each encounter is greeted with a smile and warm reception. There is a sincerity behind the staffs' willingness to help and not just folks wearing a fake smile. This obviously is a great place for them to work and is a trademark sign of good leadership as it comes across in the front line staff actions.

The breakfast options available in the morning are expansive and terrific and not to mention free. So it's difficult to complain about a free meal. Multiple options around the hotel for any seeking something different than a free hotel breakfast.

Perhaps there are some different level of rooms related to the recent poor reviews but I have not found those rooms or the types of experiences described on my trips. I would highly recommend this hotel and I plan to...
