Food: We got the luxury menu at dinner and it was not worth it. Food was okay, but nothing super special. Better to just order from the menu. Breakfast is nice with pancakes and omelette made on the spot
There is a shuttle bus back and forth like all the hotels.
Personnel: it was a hit and miss. Some were nice, however one woman was rude at us in breakfast, and in supper was super nice. Bartender was also nice, but made me carry all the stuff i ordered(few coffees and water) from the cafe to the breakfast area. Coffee was terrible thats why i ordered it from there, which is quite distance from breakfast area.
The people at entrance who are there to carry luggage also didnt help me carry mine with equipment, they just watched me struggle. Last year the same guy, came running to help me outside. So something changed i guess in their attitude this year.
Spa: not great and small, sauna is not very hot. You can go to the next hotel where there is a bigger spa, its a long way underground to get there.
Overall its a nice hotel, but definitely some...
Read moreIt's a pricey hotel that plays at being luxury, but doesn't quite get there, but you will be happy generally. Has a locked ski room for your gear that is easy to get in and out of. Can't walk to the slopes but the ski bus is reliable. Watch out for the taxi drivers trying to con you ("the buses are finished for today"). Staff speak generally good English but not universally so. The rooms have great views are sizeable and the shower was really good which is much appreciated after a long day skiing/snowboarding. The special menu that they promote to you in the evening is not worth the nearly €50 price, not by a very long way. It was poor. Restaurants in the area are not that good either. The breakfast buffet is well worth it - great choice and very good quality. It is modern in most respects which you can't say for a lot of places in this resort, so overall I would recommend it. Did have a strange experience with availability of the hotel being almost impossible to book for a week - yet, when we were there, it was not...
Read moreNot at all a 5 starts hotel, rather 4 or even 3. Such a pity, used to be a very good one, but really downgraded over the years, the owners are not investing, only pumping money , as it is very overpriced for what it is. Rooms need to be refurnished, the worse is the shuttle in the winter, there is always a problem, often not enough space and time table in the afternoon the last shuttle too early to get back to the ski depot on time. Need to add at least one or two more retunrs at 5 and 5:30 pm, otherwise taxis are 30 BGN from Malina to hotel. These are overpiced, most probably an agreement with the hotles to get their last shuttles early, so Bulgaria... Underground parking dury and cosly for what it is. Garbages around the hotel all over the place. The staff is underpaid and not educated, imported form nobody knows where... Fruits and other food at breakfast avegare for a 5 start hotel. If you stay there prepare for a 3 star hotel... Excellent location and...
