Park Hotel Stratesh — Hotel in Lovech

A modern and well located hotel with great facilities and spacious rooms...it was just let down by it's management and staff! We stayed for 1 week paying in full (cash) on arrival as requested. It became very clear very quickly that our presence seemed unappreciated by the owner and manageress. On the second evening we were told we couldn't have a drink at the bar unless we were eating and during the day I was charged different prices for exactly the same drinks depending which staff member was serving. The pool, hmmm...rules changed on a daily basis for residents, but local Bulgarians who were charged a daily rate to use the pool were loud and did everything we were told we couldn't. Half way through the stay we were amazed to find staff had put 'reserved' signs on most of the sunbeds which remained empty every day. We ended up paying to use another hotel's pool as it was obvious we were not welcome. Over the years I have stayed in many hotels around the world, but this is by far the worst run hotel I've ever been to. As I've already stated, the actual building is in a prime location with fantastic views, but it's owner and his staff need to ask themselves some serious but very basic questions about customer service/satisfaction. It was a first for me to hear the owner of a hotel argue with a female resident and tell her to f@%k off???? We decided to boycott the restaurant (shame as the food was good) and bar and found some fantastic places to eat in the town of Lovech. The locals were extremely helpful and friendly and the opposite of the staff from our hotel. I would say only use this hotel if you planning to stay in your room for the duration...

Staff attitude towards our party was appalling. The owners were rude and ignorant and seemed to go out of thier way to make our stay uncomfortable, eg, closing pool for 3days, reserving own (management) sunbeds and not using them, opening pool early to locals then on the last day told us we had to pay extra to sit at the pool side even though we had young children who played in the pool! ||Complained about children playing and also for sleepin at the table on our first night!||Pool bar wasnt open at all in our 7day visit and staff didnt like us to use the indoor bar as they wanted it to be seen as a restaurant, one day even saying they were too busy to serve us food!! ||We had to move tables on more than one occasion even tthough there were 20of us because they had other 'parties' (locals) booked. We found staff to be discriminating against our party as we were english and had young children.||On a positive note the hotel was beautiful with stunning views and a beautiful pool area however staff and especially management attitudes have put me off considering going back...
