This hotel is situated in between Sunny Beach main town and Nessebar Old Town. This is around 20 mins by taxi from Burgus airport and will cost around 80-100 Lev depending on the taxi driver negotiations. If you wish to visit Sunny Beach or Nessebar when at the hotel, it is quite some distance to walk but can be done in a couple of hours I should imagine. I decided to take a taxi which was 20 Lev/ approx £10.00 for one way. Sunny Beach main town is a bit like Blackpool on steroids with lots of clubs, bars, restaurants etc. Nessebar is a lovely place to visit with a Church, old ruins, boutique shops, cafes and restaurants.
The rooms were spacious and clean with comfy beds. TV had some English channels, although we did not watch this much. The balcony was a little dirty but a godsend for sitting in as very little if not any availability to sit by the pool. The room also has a fridge with small ice box. Very useful for drinks and ice on the balcony.
The food was varied but poor. It was RARELY hot and very often cold. One of our party became unwell within 2 days and suffered all the symptoms of food born nurivirus. We believe this was caused by eating at the restaurant. The restaurant then became very unvaried as we all were cautious as to what we would eat. Only eating what we had witnessed being cooked at the cook station. There is only one toaster, a very small cook station, always a long queue for the tea and coffee machine and the juice is very diluted. Unfortunately, the restaurant is far too small for the size of this hotel and would be difficult finding a table most days. The outside terrace had tables but was also difficult to find seating and guests with food and drinks would be plagued by wasps.
The service at the bar was at times diabolical. Two of the male bar staff are very rude and appear displeased when serving you. Almost as if they do not want tourists visiting. They also have no concept of a queue system and prefer to serve others who are not in the queue. The two lady bar tenders and a taller male were attentive ( sorry I didn't get their names) and Katerina is very efficient in clearing tables and glasses. Unfortunately, they often ran out of glasses due to lack of stock so would be drinking from plastic cups in the evening. I can understand the need to use plastic around the pool but isn't very pleasant in the evening. Also often purchased my own bag of ice from the shop across the road as the bar would run out quickly.
The spa facilities appear good, although did not use this. Gym area, indoor pool, steam room and Jacuzzi etc. Clean towels are available from the spa daily to use on the beach or by the pool.
Entertainment guys were friendly and tried to get everyone involved. Mostly with Karaoke and quiz nights although do have a daytime itinerary of pool sports and yoga if you wish. One night had traditional Bulgarian dancers but don't think this was a regular slot. Not sure about kids entertainment as we were all adults. I didn't see a separate kids club but they do have a shallow pool area for kids.
The beach and sea are a short 5 minute walk. Very nice area to sit but again have to arrive early to get a sun bed. They do have a drinks hut as advertised. However only serves the diluted orange, apple juice and water. There is a separate beach bar on the beach nearby if want to sit and have a nice drink. This is not attached to nobel hotel so you will have to buy drinks.
There is a 24 hour store across the road which is helpful when arriving late for your holiday. This I believe does close late on Sunday night. There is a costa coffee next door also.
The hotel does supply luggage store if departing later than check out time
Points for them to improve on. 1 - Food needs to be hot!! 2- Certain members of the bar staff need retraining in customer service. 3 - Rooms cleaned more often 4- More seating area, sunbeds, glasses. 5 - Another working lift...
Read moreUnfortunately, I have to share a horrifying experience. Upon arrival at the hotel, which presents itself as a 5⭐️ property, the receptionist Gabriela looked at our hotel voucher as if she had never seen anything like it before. We had paid for a suite with a sea view. After carefully examining the voucher, we were given a room that by no means matched the standard we had paid for. The carpet was dirty and stained, the bathroom was so tiny that two people couldn’t fit inside, the balcony was chipped and tiny, and the view was of a busy street.
We went to the reception to complain about the room. The receptionist Gabriela was very unpleasant and uncooperative. We were told that there were no other rooms available. We then contacted our travel agency, which immediately arranged a different hotel for us. We left the hotel cards in the room and informed the reception that we were leaving. I asked for a written confirmation stating that they did not have the room we had paid for and that we would be requesting a refund.
At that moment, all hell broke loose. Gabriela refused to give us the confirmation and called an attendant who forced us to carry our luggage. He was a fat, unpleasant man who blocked us from leaving the hotel. We tried to take a taxi, but since most Bulgarians don’t speak English, the attendant followed us even outside. He emotionally told something to each taxi driver, who then slammed their car doors and refused to drive us.
We ended up dragging our luggage through the streets for about an hour, constantly being followed by the hotel attendant. It was 10 PM, we were exhausted and desperate, and tried to get a drink at a restaurant—but the same thing happened. The porter said something to the waiter, who then refused to serve us. The fat man started yelling at us to return to the hotel immediately. That’s when I called the police.
Two officers arrived in a police car—one spoke some English, the other none. I explained the situation, but the hotel porter once again intervened, and the English-speaking officer started trying to convince us to go back to the Nobel Hotel. He asked for our IDs, and I handed over our passports in good faith.
At that point, the officer’s attitude changed dramatically. He said he would return our passports only if we went back to the hotel. That was highly suspicious, so I asked the officer to identify himself. He snapped at me that he didn’t have to and pulled out handcuffs!
When I tried to take a photo of him, he grabbed my phone and deleted all my photos and videos, including footage of the officers and the hotel porter who had been following us. Almost everything was erased. I’m attaching what little was left in my phone.
It was a huge stroke of luck that our travel agent stayed on the line with me the entire time. When she heard what was happening, she contacted the Bulgarian embassy representative in Burgas. The representative spoke to the ‘policemen’ on the phone and told them something. They stopped being aggressive, put away the handcuffs, returned our passports, and wrote a report with us about what happened. Of course, they refused to give us a copy, but they did let us go. Thank God.
Please, if you ever consider a vacation in Bulgaria—stay away from Hotel Nobel! I’ve never experienced anything this terrifying on a holiday. Honestly, if we hadn’t been out in public, I think that hotel porter might have physically...
Read moreDO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL unless you like rude managers and staff that can't understand or try to speak any English. Brought my friend to this hotel for her 60th as she has never been to bulgaria before as i have always told her how amazing it is and how friendly the staff are. But how wrong was i at this hotel. You Can't check in untill 3pm and have your wrist band cut off at midday at check out. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 13.18 and was told by the lady manager sia with long black hair and wears black every day to have lunch untill 3pm when room should be ready. when we went back the room was ready but when we opened the door it was a double and we booked a twin so we went back to reception and spoke the the manager again who said she couldn't help as no rooms available. I showed her we booked a twin and she then said she had a twin so we went to that room and again it was set up as a double so down we went again and explained it's a double she then called the cleaners to ask if it was a double or a twin we was told to wait for the cleaners 19 mins later cleaners changed it to twin by the time all the back and forth it was 16: 35 so over 3 hours of our holiday wasted. No apology from the manager what so ever. Food is good but ita a small restaurant and you need to share tables with other guests as not many tables and chairs to seat everyone. Only around 40 to 50 sunbeds in the whole hotel so you need to be up very early in the morning to get one. Your band gets cut off at midday so if you have a late flight like we had at midnight you need to buy food and drink outside of hotel. When explaining to manager we don't get picked up till 21.30 she just said not my problem you only get breakfast and demanded our bands to be cut off. I spoke to the tui rep and explained how rude she was from the moment we checked in and how rude she was about having our bands back and he said no you have entitlement all day and spoke to her and told her to put our bands back on. When speaking to others on our flight or other flights at midnight some had their bands cut off at midday and other got told to enjoys the food and drink untill they leave all by the manager sia so i think if she likes you or not. I think ours was because we complained about having the wrong room. We was their 4 days only but not once was our room cleaned and we had to ask for clean towels. Pool is over 5 foot from one end to other so not good for children at all or adults under 5ft like myself 4ft 10 inch also its very cold.|Good parts are...|Entertainment staff are amazing and the blond lady in the restaurant was also amazing also the location was perfect as everything around you that you need. Indoor pool was walm .Just a shame sia the manager ruined it for us this was not just our experience but many others at the hotel while we stayed. You get top shelf alcohol but you need...
