Apartment was more central than description and was only about 5 minutes walk to the gondola (all uphill). I would use ski depot lockers unless very fit. Ok facilities ,quiet location ,apartment was spotless and cleaned daily. Quite a modern design for Bulgarian Apartments (have stayed in a lot). Pack your own tin/bottle openers and corkscrew .limited pans if cooking and no condiments. However ,had toaster ,kettle ,microwave and hob. Room also had good storage with iron and ironing board, clothes rack.small balcony. Bar area that does basic snacks ,swimming pool and sauna.Negatives, satellite tv did not work, hard bed ,no restaurant ,no shuttle service, a bit devoid of atmosphere ,noise really travels and was regularly woken up (however, I am a light sleeper and noise probably more due to the noisy guests! Was fairly quiet most of the time) . On balance ,great value for money ,clean and fairly comfortable. Tv, lack of restaurants etc didn't bother me, and there were decent restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk, with a basic shop next door. If you want a good value ,decent enough accommodation break ,come prepared ,pack some earplugs ,and well...
Read moreWe’ve just returned from a week staying at a private apartment in this hotel. Room C20|We were switched without warning to here from a far better hotel complex and I can see why it was the only hotel in Borovets that had space during February half term. |Extremely poor studio room with a broken wardrobe , tatty old furniture and a TV from the 1980s. |The room itself was very small.|The beds were small and very uncomfortable. The sofa bed was a sheet chucked on a manky sofa. |The bath permanently leaked from underneath and there was no shower curtain.|The curtains smelt of I don’t know what and the whole place needed a deep clean. |We didn’t eat there or even use any of the facilities the place offered other than the free Wi-fi which was good. |Worst of all was the location - if you’re using this as a ski base for the resort in winter then be prepared for a monster hike uphill. There are far better located places to stay and most certainly far better hotels to stay at for cheaper in and around Borovets.|I’ve been to Borovets 5 times for skiing and this is the worst place I’ve...
Read moreWe spent a ski week in Borovets Gardens, and it was actually comfortable enough. The location is nice, fairly close to the center and the gondola but also in a very quite part of Borovets. To get to the gondola you need to walk up the steep street which can be a real problem if you bring your skis every morning. We actually took the ski depo next to gondola which made our holiday even more relaxing. The swimming pool is clean and with very warm water but the condition of the tiles in the swimming pool is very bad. They are falling off all around. Nevertheless we enjoyed our swimming every day. The lobby bar is quite cheap and comfortable, they also have table tennis, billiard, some games for kids. What we did not like is that they do not provide enough towels for the guests, they once took away all the towels we had even the clean ones and replaced them with only three towels for the three of us. The kitchen is well equipped but it lacked some of the kitchenware. The good thing was that the studio was very well heated and the wi-fi...
