Royal Plaza Apartments — Hotel in Samokov

I have reviewed more than 20 accommodations and this is the first place I can give a 5 star review for value and accommodation. ||1. Location, location, location. The location is perfect, it is bang in the middle of both the Rila and the Samakov hotels. |2. The accommodation is clean, spacious and well looked after with warm rooms and comfortable beds. As a group We had 3 rooms, all were tidy and can be self sufficient with cooking facilities. |3. There is a ski hire place within the accommodation, (run by george), that offers very cheap and functional equipment. It is not the newest of equipment but as a group of 12 beginners and intermediates it was more then adequate. |There is also a ski depot in the basement which is very handy whether skiing from the 4 man lifts or the gondola.|4. No pool or spa but that doesn't matter!! For just a couple of quid you can use all the facilities at either the Rila or Samakov with towels provided.|5. Transfers can be provided from the airport at great prices.|6. Lessons can be arranged at great prices, we had ours with the guys from the Samakov ski school, 4 different teachers due to the group size, 3 very good and friendly teachers but 1 who was too strict and impatient. ||The only downside, (and to be fair not much), is that because it is in such a great location there are folk walking down the street until 2am. If you are at the front of the accommodation and a light sleeper get some ear plugs but if you are at the back it is not a problem. ||Overall you would be daft to look for anywhere else to stay if you want to be in a fantastic location or if you have kids who don't like to walk to far...

The only good thing about this place is the location. We were lied to when we ordered the room, we’ve ordered a room which was supposed to have 3 beds, but got a room with 2 beds and upon reaching out to the (hardly ever available, only on the phone) manager of the hotel, he just denied anything we tried to say and claimed there is nothing he can do about it now although we have him a proof for our claim. We ended up being shouted at by the manager, absolutely disgusting behavior. Like that wasn’t enough, our fridge stopped working on the second day and when we tried reaching out for help from the security guy (which is the only staff member in the building) , he said there is nothing he can do about it. I have never experienced a place as bad as this and if I could give it less than 1 star, I would. Do yourself a favor and take one of the other places in the area which are far better and will have someone who could actually help you when...

Don’t accept room 201 because it is the worst in the whole hotel!||- only room located on top of the stairs at first floor - big noise from downstairs||- only room located half a meter from the kids room wich means terrible noise||- only room wich is under the pool table (2nd floor) so whenever somebody plays pool (biliard) you can hear everything live.||Every night, after manager left, smoking was permited inside ( I know there are laws against it) and part of the smoke came in our room wich had the door ajar (fix it!)||We left after 3 nights like this and moved to Lion Hotel wich was so much better for just a few euros.||||No invoice, no nothing for what we paid, courtesy of a group wich chose we pay the advance on revolut...||||I recomand they never give that room to anybody else, use it for...
