We had a group of four people (two couples) staying in a one story villa. We had a great time overall in Borovets. Everyone in the hotel was nice and friendly, the breakfast was okay, not the best and a little lacking in variety of options, but it was good. Food served in the hotel restaurant was good, too. Since most of the places in Borovets are little street food places, we favoured our hotel restaurant over them most of the time. The location was probably the best possible, - the villas are 2-4 minutes away from two lifts. The gondola is little further away, but since we did not need difficult and long slopes yet, the location was perfect for us. The hotel organised transfer for us from and to Sofia airport and it was a very comfortable ride, very thankful for this. The ski rent was okay, there was a very friendly guy who helped us a lot to understand the slopes and where to go and what to do. If you are a Snowboarder, the choice for rent is pretty limited, I think there were really just 5 or 6 snowboards, and around 30-50 skies. Everything was of a good quality, though, no complaints. On the flip side, the sauna is not included in the price for the villa with sauna which we found a little odd. You need to request a special sauna Card from the reception and pay additional 10 bgn for each hour you will be using the sauna and you need to pay for it in advance. You are never sure how much time is left on your card after use and the system was very inconvenient, we were not as much concerned about the additional cost as it was uncomfortable to use it. We also ran into some "system problems" a couple of times and we could not use the sauna. There were also a lot of ants in the villa, they were small and did not bite. The worst thing was that they were able to crawl along the walls and bathroom sink, we saw some pretty frequently in the cup with our toothbrushes. They clean the rooms every three days, we had an odd misunderstanding when we asked them to come at the specific period of time, they showed up much earlier, confirmed that they need to come later and did not show up then at all until the next day (also in the wrong time). If the cleaning staff comes over, I would suggest letting them in and not being picky with the timing. Also, be prepared to pay in cash for some things as the terminal may not...

The outer design and the design of the rooms are good but there are some issues affecting the practicality: What I noticed: 1 . There was no elevator for the three floor building having an elevated reception, which raises the hight even more. That means no convenience for elderly people or disabled or for people like me who had to carry a baby and all his stuff up and down the stairs. 2 . The room was surrounded by windows which might give a nice view to the mountains but there were no blinds or window covering to stop the early morning sunlight. Only some light curtens. We had the half of a balcony. The other half was dedicated to the other room opposite of us. The balcony was divided by a bulkhead only half a meter high. So, practically, we had to be all together, one company at the small balcony. Our neighbours were also smokers. Has anyone heard about privacy? The balcony doors were also one across the other which also affected privacy. 4 . We stayed in the hotel in the summer. A 4star hotel should have bed sheets for the summer and not duvets for all year round. The breakfast was decent but some can find the same in 2 and quite often in 3star hotels. The restaurant had a touristic menu with common dishes from various countries, trying to satisfy an international clientele. This is not bad but it gives to the restaurant no character.

Read moreGreat position next to slopes but not value for money. We had two chalets, and we travelled with our children and grandchildren. We had Half Board and you have to eat between 6 and 8 and choose from a very limited menu the day before. When we arrived at 7.30 the waitress complained we needed to come earlier. You dont get the same food as is served in the restaurant and the standard is the worst we have experienced in 7 visits to Borovets. It was inedible and we gave up after a couple of nights. Breakfast passable - just about.|The standard of cleaning in the chalets was terrible with spills on bedside tables not wiped up, sink not cleaned for days, and floor only hoovered infrequently.I asked cleaner to do the bathroom sink when it was not cleaned for 3 days and dirty and it still wasn't done.I raised it at reception and after that it improved a little but still sides not wiped etc.The doorman is great , really friendly but the customer service from the rest of the staff pretty poor.Whilst poor food in a hotel in Borovets is not that unusual the standard of cleaning and customer service is the worst we have experienced and for nearly £300 per night for a 4 star hotel- just...
