The restaurant has one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The bread given for the sandwich literally had mold on it, the slices of cheese looked as if they had been dropped and then picked up again, and the ham smelled really badly. Also the coffee they serve is really strong and only comes in small 60ml cups. The waitress also speaks only Bulgarian... no English or Russian, so it is close to impossible to order anything. (attached pictures of the food) As you arrive, you realize that the reception is not active during the hours advertized, so you'll have to go on an adventure around the hotel to find a staff to help you. Then you walk back to the reception together, and you find out that they only accept cash payments. While you have no cash on you, they kindly tell you that you'll just pay later the next day. You are guided to your room, and even though the room has a hall where to leave your shoes, the receptionist walks straight in without even taking his shoes off... shows you around and leaves. The view to the snowy mountain is amazing, and rooms are warm and clean. In the bathroom the toilet is very cheap and it takes many tries to successfully flush it. The small room does have a TV and a balcony. Also there is a shower, except there is no shampoo provided to wash your head with. In the rooms there is no ventilation system though, so the radiator makes it extremely dry during the night... unless you want to stay in the cold and leave the balcony door open.

Firstly, it's important to mention that the host may come across as a bit apathetic, but in reality, he was quite nice and very helpful. We initially booked a double room, but the bathroom light didn't work. However, the host promptly upgraded us to a better room – the apartment room, which turned out to be great for a family and had everything we needed. The only odd thing was that the shower hadn't been properly sealed. The breakfast offered here is minimal but sufficient. It typically includes eggs, bread, cheese, ham, and some vegetables. All in all, this place is definitely worth the cost, especially for travelers looking to explore the Rila mountains.

Summary: Good conditions. Delicious cuisine! A big diversity of pizza! Such a lovely Vegetariana and Quatro Stagioni! The service is so so... they can work on more. We had a really polite and nice waitress but also an not so professional and understandable waitress. About the rooms: Clean, sImple. We didn’t have a refrigerator in the room, which I think it’s a big flaw. The bathroom are very small and bad smelling. Also our toilet cistern didn’t work properly... In the hallway is smelled like cigarette smoke. There is a gym, in a very good conditions, sauna, billiard and table tennis(which you need to pay!) For the view, I don’t have any bad words! :)

Lovely little place for the price. Beds are comfy enough, rooms have a lovely view and the staff are very friendly.

The quality of the food on offer is quite good and we didn't order anything during our stay that we were unhappy with.

The breakfast menu is somewhat limited though offering what is essentially four different types of Sandwich.

For the room: The bathroom is quite small and its configuration has the shower just over the toilet with the water drain on the floor in the middle of the bathroom.

The position of the drain means there is a constant bad smell coming up from the bathroom floor so leave the door closed at all times.

Something worth noting is there is no AC in any of the rooms. They get pretty toasty during the day, but thankfully in our case we were out and about during the day so this didn't have an impact on us. At night, the cool mountain air drops the temperature significantly so leaving the balcony door open cools the room rapidly.

The balcony door also has an insect screen so it's safe to leave it open as you sleep.

A few additional things to note.

While the hotel does accept card payments, there are no ATMs anywhere close to the hotel so ensure you bring cash for everything in the area.

There is a little shop nearby - the reception desk can point you to it - it's about a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel can arrange a taxi for you to get to the surrounding activities.

There is great hiking to be had in these areas so bring your hiking boots

If I find myself back in this area I would happily...

Hotel Panorama is the discovery of the year for me - a wonderful place very near the 7 Rila Lakes and the Skakavitsa Lodge and waterfall.

We arrived around 6pm and the receptionist Nikoleta greeted us like family and explained everything you need to know and beyond! Absolutely charming young lady with amazing attitude and remarkably professional and dedicated to making your stay at the Panorama pleasant and enjoyable!

The rooms are nice and the view is fantastic - it is the Panorama - a marvellously well located hotel.

The hot water is very hot and the cold water is very cold which I absolutely love!

The bed was very comfortable and there’s a balcony with table and chairs if you want to enjoy some time there sitting in the sun and admiring the view.

The restaurant is nice and the food is great! The prices are beyond reasonable for the quality you get! The staff is friendly, helpful and attentive and would give you good suggestions for seasonal dishes or anything you ask for.

The parking area has plenty of space and there’s a very nice playground to the side of the hotel as well.

We’ll definitely visit again and as soon as we can;-)

Thank you very much to all wonderful people that make this place feel like home away...
