Hotel Trayana — Hotel in Stara Zagora

For the first night we had to book a studio for 4 adult persons which was clearly stated in the booking system. Upon arrival we found out that there were not enough hygienic products for four persons in the bathroom and we were missing some bed linen. The bed linen that was present was just prepared there apparently for guests to make their own beds which I had so far only seen in very cheap guesthouses, never in hotels, even in cheap Indian hotel I had my bed completely ready for use. There was a bed for 2 persons and folded sofa. When we approached the reception with the demand that the studio was not ready for four persons, we got into contact with some manager called Miro. He was clearly angry, he just said something rude to one of my elderly female companions, afterwards he stormed into the room, angrily without any further words showed us that some of the bed linen was hidden under the cover of the bed and the rest was hidden in the folded sofa that we had not able to open. Then he hastily left the room visibly very angry and sent a young female receptionist to us who was trying to excuse as much as she could. Basically, the idea was that we as guests were supposed to look for our matresses and bed linen all over the room and then finish our beds (the receptionist promised us that if we wanted she would send a cleaning lady to make the beds next day. I had always thought that if a facility was called "hotel" they were doing this automatically, not just when clients were angry). Despite being a person who in her professional life is working in predominantly masculine environment I was struck also by the level of machism that the manager Miro showed not only to us as female guests but also towards his female subordinate (half of his age) leaving her to excuse herself to us, she was really feeling uncomfortable. station and 5 for the bus station. Not quite central but there were restaurants nearby. Nothing to fault about the hotel. Friendly reception. The room was above average in size with a balcony and a good sized bathroom. Plenty of space for storage.

Had to make up a duvet using one in the cupboard with the cover on the bed. Breakfast wasn't available Saturday or Sunday morning although this was a pay on arrival. A shame this wasn't mentioned in the hotel description on the...

Quiet street and a good location. The hotel has a few parking spots, but you still might need to park somewhere else because all of them are already occupied. The staff was polite and friendly.
