I booked my stay through Hotel.com at the MainStay Suites in Columbus, GA, and unfortunately, it was a series of disappointing events. The first room I was assigned had a strong mold smell in the bathroom, which prompted a room change. The second room was fine, but the toilet didn't work, so I had to switch rooms again. Finally, we were placed in a room that seemed okay, and we had no issues until check-out day.|As part of my usual routine, I pulled back the sheets and gathered all the dirty towels to place in the corner. That’s when I discovered what appeared to be a large bloodstain on the mattress—along with the stain bleeding through onto the mattress protector. I took a photo and immediately showed it to the front desk, and they agreed to refund me for the entire stay.|However, the real issue is with Hotel.com. Despite the hotel agreeing to the refund, Hotel.com has been giving me the runaround. I’ve been in contact with the hotel, and they confirmed they haven't received anything from the booking site. I've had no resolution from Hotel.com so far, which is incredibly frustrating.|I understand that things can go wrong, but when it comes to customer service and communication, this experience has been far below expectations. I’m hoping this gets resolved soon, but for now, I would caution others when booking through this site, especially in terms of customer support after a...
Read moreThis is NOT a hotel but rather a place for noisy private parties. Typically they start after midnight and last until morning. Hotel guests are humiliated and punished for their naivety to think this is a hotel. Apparently smoking is allowed, as the rooms stink, as well as the restaurant. Choice of food in the restaurant is very limited. Do not try meat from the BBQ especially meatballs, as they are very oversalted! In general the menu consists of unhealthy, badly cooked mix of cheap ingredients. Everything is so overpriced, and not corresponding to the quality and volume. Example: chicken or pork "shashlik" are advertised as 400 grams, but in reality they consist of few pieces of meat and plenty of onion and potatoes (pictures attached). The personel is highly demotivated and unprofessional. If you are a fan of Balkan pop-folk music you can "enjoy" it from your room. It's so loud. You can also enjoy the "flavour" of cigarete smoke and loud chatting coming from beneath your room window where is the typical smoking place in front of the disco/restaurant. However, if you are looking for a hospitable, quiet, and comfortable place to relax during your business trip or spend a weekend with your family, THIS IS NOT the right place! When there is a private party the parking is not accessible for hotel guests because it is overcrowded. You simply leave your car...
Read moreThe setting is perfect - it comprises a hotel, tavern and a vast summer garden. The tavern is in an old, 350 years old building with 1 meter thick walls which keep it cool inside during summer and warm during winter. It is decorated in a traditional, old-fashioned Bulgarian style with a fireplace, household utensils that were used in the olden times and hunting trophies on the walls. The menu is not extensive but offers simple, traditional Bulgarian dishes and a good selection of Bulgarian wines. We had lunch on a rainy day with just few tables occupied. The service was fast enough to make sure the food was freshly made and not microwaved. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful and communicative and gave us some advices on the menu. We had white beans in a pot, "katak", beef tongue, traditional pitta bread with garlic and their home-made desserts - rustic cheesecake and "kazan Dibi". All dishes tasted like our grandmas used to cook a long time ago. Prices are reasonable mid-range, cheaper than those in the cities. In the summer they put tables in the big garden under the trees. A free parking lot for guests of the complex is just next door. Highly recommended! We...
