Unfortunately I fell very ill in Sihanoukville, resulting in me being hospitalised. Mr Kosal called for an ambulance and waited outside for it to turn up. On our return to the hotel he asked every day how I was. If it wasn't for his actions we wouldn't have known what to do. So THANK YOU Mr Kosal.|Most of the staff here are very nice, the room was fairly clean on arrival and the aircon was almost too good. The location is also perfect, on Beach Road, 2 mins from the beach and bars, yet quiet enough during the night to sleep. The pool is cleaned daily and the on-site restaurant is AMAZING.| A few things that really let this place down though:|1. No wifi at all|2. The room wasn't cleaned once during the full duration of our stay (8 nights), until I was discharged from hospital and we had to ask, as I needed clean bedding and towels. Toilet roll is also not restocked therefore we had to take it from the shared bathroom each day.|3. The pool has no closing times. There were A LOT of locals using the pool until gone 11pm every night and from 6am each morning. Being woken up and kept awake by screaming and shouting is not my idea of relaxing. We complained on 3 seperate occasions about this and it was only on our last night that something was 'kind of' done about it.|4. The fridge was very dirty inside.||This place is still under renovation. I genuinely believe that if they take the 4 points made above into account and rectify these issues it would be the perfect...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery bad customer service!!! We went to the restaurant when travelling to Sihanoukville. We didn't expect that the food could be authentic Italian, but finally it could be acceptable except cold cuts, which had only salami and not like in the picture. But it wasn't the worst. The terrible thing was customer service. The waiters couldn't speak English, the manager was the only one who could communicate in English, but he ignored us coz (1) he was busy to chat with other local people, and (2) we are Asian and look like Chinese. It was clear that he paid more attention to Western guests visiting at the same time. Then at nearly end of our meal, we found out a small piece of dish washing sponge in my risotto dish. We made a complaint, and the manager (thank God) finally came to talk to us to say sorry and give a little discount. But we could see that the problem was from his bad attitude. NEVER COME BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN, AND DO NOT SUGGEST FOR ANY ONE TO VISIT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRoughly you get what you pay for under the present circumstances in Sihanoukville. Serendipity is no longer what it used to be like, and people looking for a beach holiday should head to Otres or Sokha beaches instead.
Pros: Cheap Close to the beach Aircon is cold Showers are very hot with reasonable water pressure Friendly staff
Cons: Very old buildings with either no windows, or windows looking out to the neighbour's roof, or a wall a foot away from the window. Think peeling wallpaper, loose electrical wires hanging down from the ceiling No bedside cabinets No power plugs near the bed No handles on some doors No fridge No in-room safe $50 fine threatened for flushing loo paper down the loo... ... ... No lift
In general, the rooms and furnishings look at least 10 years older than as advertised. The Invito guesthouse will do for a short stay in a pinch (and there's not many alternative options at a similar price), but it isn't somewhere I would return to for a...
