Koh Pos Guesthouse — Hotel in Khaet Preah Sihanouk

It's not great value for your money. The staff seems somewhat rude, as if they'd rather be anywhere else. Then again this is the impression I've gotten in so many places in Cambodia and SEA, I guess it's just a different kind of customer service they have here.||I was ill and tired when I arrived, so I just walked to the first guest house I found. Location of Koh Pos GH is very nice. I got a twin room for myself for $25 a night. I think it was a bit too much. The room was big, bed comfortable and had hot water. There was even complimentary tooth brush and paste. But that's about it. No one said a word about breakfast, so when I went asking for it in the morning, they told me it had already ended. My tour company booked 3 nights for me in this place. After one I notified them I was leaving and requested a refund for the next 2 nights. Room stank of cleaning products so I opened the broken window until the usual bugs arrived. Then it was just the general stink of the mouldy, unclean bathroom. Hair, of all kinds, in the sink and on the toilet and walls. Toilet had been wiped and left covered with dirty spots, uncleaned bathroom shelf and a wardrobe mirror I could barely see my reflection in. Dirty bedding, a quilt without a cover, dusty everything, ants all over, a nighclub next door that began at 10pm on Sunday night, and check in staff who clearly had better things to do than be polite or friendly to me. |Positives...good a/c and comfortable bed.|However, US$25 per night in Cambodia??? We were promised a room with air con and WiFi, but neither the air con or WiFi worked! Our room was hotter than outside in the hallway, we found rotting fruit under our bed and had boards of cockroaches in the room. The shower in the bathroom didn’t drain properly which meant there was always a couple centimetres of water on the floor - very slippery. The windows were so thin and the building was so close to casinos and nightclubs that our whole room vibrated from the bass, and we couldn’t sleep until about 3am. Would never ever recommend this...
