The Palm Hotel — Hotel in Khaet Preah Sihanouk

the rooms are dirty, didn’t feel nice and uncomfortable. the bathroom was not cleanest, didn’t even provide us a trash bag. the wifi connection was weak and would not reconnect after trying for minutes. the breakfast buffet was the best part of the stay albeit the options were a bit boring. the rooms had a stank that LINGERED despite leaving the air conditioning on for a long time as we did not want to open the windows in fear of bugs entering. the smell came back stronger when we left the room for 2 hours. the staff was also aloof and did not care when people came in and out of their lobby. overall the stay was not appreciated and we thankfully only booked one night by accident when we wanted to stay for two. instead, we went to another stay a few km away and had a better experience (sorry i don’t remember the name :/). some of our local friends have noted the descent in quality as they stated that the hotel used to be better, even staying multiple...

Now is at 2.40am. The open air discotheque opposite the hotel is still blasting the music with very high bass. When I check with the hotel reception, he just laugh my complaint off and say that it's less noisy tonight. I asked when the music can stop, he just replied until the last customer leave the discotheque. All along the hotel knew the noise pollution but they didnt disclosed this in their hotel information. Worst of all, the rooms facing this noise pollution are the premium rooms at higher room rates.This is the worst Agoda booking hotel I have ever stay. I stayed at The Palm Hotel for two days, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell that made it uncomfortable to relax. To make matters worse, the noise from nearby restaurants and bars was unbearable. There were loud parties going on all night, and I couldn’t get any sleep. Breakfast was another letdown.
