I booked the bungalows for 2 in May 2017. The wooden bungalow had basic facilities like electronic fans, a light bulb, a private restroom which was very basic, too. This is definitely suitable for those who are not much concerned about luxury and modern facilities. The wifi here is good. In general, the room, mattress, pillows, and the restroom are clean enough for me. I don't like A/C much, and my bungalow was in the garden, and there are 2 fans, so I don't mind this.||The staff was very friendly, and at the time I stayed at Island Palace, there were 2 men who could speak English. They helped me call the speed ferry agency, and also checked the lock for me as requested. The place was safe, differen from what i thought at first. Also, I think this is the most beautiful place to stay compared to other guesthouse nearby (I do not make the comparison with other bungalows in the resorts). What's more, the view from my room was peaceful and beautiful as I could sit on the hammock, enjoying the sun rise and the sea. ||Another good thing about this guesthouse is that it's near the pier and within the central area of Koh Rong, so you can easily have fund, find some restaurants, or simply sit on the beach with friends. Especially, even though it is within the center, the noise from other bars cannot disturb you. ||But to be honest, you need to prepare insect repellent as there are a lot of different kinds of insects on Koh Rong. And be ready to meet some unexpected friends like big lizards like the one I saw on the ceiling of my bungalow. :D but you should not worry too much as they are very nice and they...
Read moreWe moved to here from another place in koh rong as the other place was too hot. We had a fan room for $20 a night. The room was clean and spacious with comfy beds and mosquito nets provided. Was cooler than were was was before. Had a private bathroom but shower holder was broken so had to hold it. The music is moderate throughout the day underneath but reasonable but by 10pm you can feel the bass flowing through you. We have been traveling for 3 months now and it's never been a problem before and I can normally sleep no problems but the bar downstairs must have some serious speaks as you can feel the Base all night and with the heat it makes it very difficult to sleep. My reccomondation is if your not a partier then don't stay here but if you are and chances are you will be downstairs dancing away too the music with the Base then this is a good place to stay as it's very central to the beach and nightlife. Staff friendly, Keo is great and we have actually stayed in contact with him over facebook and can hopefully help his dreams of building a school for Cambodian kids one day. He's a great kid and very helpful. Go hit him up if you want to help...
Read moreI don't write here actually, but this hostel is soooo awfull... ||The Island: it's a beautifull place actually. But it's full of rubish EVERYW|ERE (like the rest of Cambodia). ||Diving: the koh rong dive center is an awsome company to go scuba diving with. (1 day, 2 dives, food, baverage, boat, Equipment... = 80$) ||Hostel: |The only good i coult talk about is the wifi, but that's the same in every hostel in cambodia i guess. |They didn't even try to clean my room. When i entered, there was a package of a condom on the bathroom-floor. |And that's all i have to say. You could think about the rest. ||Staff: |It's just unfriendly. Unless you haven't payed allready. They just want your money and they let you feel it. ||If you don't have enough money with you, you can get cash on the island. But they charge you 10 % (but it's the same on the...
