We spent three nights here while birding in the area, which is near the Seima protected forest. This was not the best hotel we stayed at during out tour, but certainly not the worst as other reviews would indicate. The rooms were basic, but had most of the essentials. Other members of our group complained about the difficulty of getting hot water. We were lucky: our third floor room had an ELB instant hot water unit installed. The others had to wait several minutes for the water from the solar heaters to get hot.||||Wi-Fi was available in the room and lobby and worked well.||||We had laundry done while there. Got our clothes back in one day for an amazingly low $5. In general, we found the service good, though some of the staff had trouble with English.||||We ate dinner every night in the associated restaurant, which is across the street. The food was excellent, with as usual, fish and vegetables better than the meat dishes.||||This is not a luxury hotel, but was certainly adequate for our purposes. The rooms were quiet and reasonable. Our room was up two flights of stairs. A lift would be nice for carrying bags.||||A refrigerator and TV shared a single electrical outlet, which meant you had to decide which was more important. Go with the refrigerator. There was nothing to interests us on the TV. ||||A large centipede (photo attached) was an interesting find one morning on the ground floor hallway. We found it fun, but others may be a...
Read moreWe had booked a so-called deluxe room. It was spacious and had a good view across the hills, but the facilities very far from deluxe!! Two paper thin towels and a minute piece of soap the size of a fingernail - and no hot water!||The hotel was almost empty, and yet they put two local guys in the room next to ours who woke us up at 11. Their TV was still blaring at 2am when I went down to complain to the management, who refused to deal with this, but offered us to move rooms. Unsurprisingly, we didn't want to do this in the middle of the night, but the next day when I threatened to move to another hotel they showed us other rooms, all smaller. Each had a problem, but we eventually settled on one,, later discovering that the one plug was dangerously coming out of the wall! Same poor bathroom facilities and no hot water!||We had three nights there, and I complained when checking out and asked for a reduction because of all the inconvenience. Speaking through our guide as interpreter, who was very embarrassed by the whole situation, the manager refused to accept my points and even threatened me with the police if I didn't pay in full! He finally deducted a paltry $3!||The manager was completely inept, and , like all the staff, had almost no English. I had the impression that they are catering...
Read moreThe sign near the aircon suggests opening a window works better. While the aircon itself worked ok, it did not adjust to the temperature so we manually turned it on and off during the night. There were no insect screens on the windows so in the interest of keeping the mozzies out we chose to keep the windows closed. *install insect screens!|On two of the three nights we stayed there was a loud party of young people (staying at the hotel) using the hotel pavilion for a party, until 1130pm. *put non-party revellers on the back side of the hotel away from the pavilion.|The adjacent restaurant was convenient for dinner, but many of the menu options were not available, including drinks. A display case of available drinks would resolve this. |There is no elevator, and also no staff other than the receptionist to assist. This was fine for us but other tourists might like to know about this. |A spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom would be a good idea. |Receptionist...
