Green Park Village Guesthouse — Hotel in Siem Reap

So me and a couple mates had our bus not turn up on us at 11pm last night. So we pulled up Agoda(good travel hostel app) and found that the green park village guest house was the closest one to us. We were tired, hungry, stressed out to high heavens at this point. So we changed it and walked to his guest house. To be greeted outside by a younger boy and a slightly older chap. They appeared to be closed but all was not lost - the younger(very very kind helpful chap) said we could sit in the lobby and offered us tea and coffee whilst they figured out if he could help us. He was so nice, kind, friendly and everything possible. Can’t express it enough, 2 mins later a lovely lady came in and between him and her they found us a nice A/C room with 3 beds for me and my 2 friends for a decent price with FREE breakfast. Room was lovey and we got about 5 hours sleep coz by the time we got into bed it was 1am.. we sorted another coach for 7:30 in the morning. Breakfast was at 6:30 which worked out perfect for us coz we needed to eat and get going quickly. Didn’t wanna miss another bus - as we were leaving the guest house the slightly older chap asked were we were going and offered us a tuk tuk. I was like sure but we need to be quick, between him and the other staff within 5 mins we figured out where we needed to go and we’re on our way for €3 PERFECT! Never right reviews, this is my first but I feel it’s deserved! Can’t express how accommodating the young boy was carrying my bags and all - many thanks team! This place is very laid back. It's staffed by the wonderful family that owns it, their cute kids running around playing and laughing gives it a real sense of home. It's sits on the main road and next to the major market in Siem Reap but is insulated by a commercial building in front so is isolated from the hustle and bustle and is nice and quite. The hotel has several places to sit and just chill. Free breakfast and pick up on arrival and departure from the airport make the Green Park a truly great deal. The rooms are clean, simple, comfortable, with cold A/C which was appreciated after a day of walking in the heat. The staff are very helpful, you should ask their advice on what to see and where to go. They arranged all of our transportation so we did not get ripped off...

We had a great time during our visit to Siem Reap mainly because of staying at the Green park. They arranged free pickup from the airport. The young owners of the hotel speak good English and gave us all types of suggestions what to do and where to go and arranged the transportation at local cost with zero hassle. My wife and I are now talking about going back next year just to hang out for a week. We stayed in a room on the first floor, the owner suggested we not because the rooms on the upper floors were newer but we did not want to do the stairs. Our room was dated but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The hotel is cheap by any standard and with the advise and pick up and taking us back to the airport it was a true bargain. Free breakfast was not great...
