If ever one should not believe pictures and descriptions, it applies to Hotel Beau Rivage, Douala. The location seemed pleasant and convenient. A very late arrival, was compensated by fast smooth check-in. Ordering a meal to be delivered to the room, also looked promising with the helpfulness of the staff.||||From there, things went downhill fast:||||Overpowering, musty rooms with flaking paint, mould, where breathing was sometimes difficult.||The traditional sign of bad hotel in Africa... no toilet seat||Noisy rattly aircon, which then proceeded to leak INTO the room around 4 am, so that I had a pool of water 3 inches deep, when I woke up, along with wet table, furniture, clothes.||It took about 3 hours from 7:00 am on a Saturday morning for a technician to arrive to look at the aircon.
