We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Almatoit. This is an historic house being given a new lease of life by a young family. Our room was large and the bed was most comfortable. The en-suite was excellent and the general cleanliness of the house is very good. The house is just a short walk from the town centre and the recommended restaurants were very good. We received good suggestions for sight-seeing and things to do. If you do stay here do go to the Zoo Sauvage in St. Felicien and to the historic village of Val Jambert; each is worth a full day. They were very resourceful when it came to help us with activities as they know the area very well. In addition, they are very welcoming and we enjoyed having conversation about Canadian history and current political events.
